Hello, Julie! How are you? I'n very sorry about how you're feeling.
It is odd for it to cause such severe pain. However, it should only take a couple days for things to settle back down, since you were on it for such a short period of time.
However, if you have an infection that requires treatment, you should return to your doctor, so they can prescribe a different antibiotic.
The FDA lists the typical antibiotic side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea.
