Just had Testopel pellets inserted in my backside. Forgot to ask doctor how long until they take effect. He's out of town.

After using T gel for several years I lost most of my hair. My T went from 250 to 700. It was worth it. My testicles did shrink and became very soft. It was worth it though - muscles, libido, and improved mood. The pellets seem to be doing the same to me.

Thanka Mark... How do You overcome the shrinking Testical feeling? & sorry for asking, do You have the Turtle effect? It and shrinking Testicals worries me.. Thank You all as a New Pellet Guy... Sure helps chatting!

I'm 65 and have not noted any turtle effect. With high T I have a better libido. Small testicles is the price you pay for HRT.

Thanks Mark. Crazy I hear more Guys go thru this more than spoken of. Crazy, but I would say if I will be feeling positive changes - Amen. So - thoughts of change notification, what will I be noticing?

This month is a year on pellets for me, and I have not noticed any hair losses. I might have noticed a bit more in places which were bare in the past. I already had a lot of body hair, now just more I think. Testicle shrinkage is controlled by a low dose of Clomiphene Citrate (12.5 mg). They have remained the same size. I think Taking the Clomiphene has also given me a buffer at the end of the cycle. My cycle is every three months and test have increased at the end of each cycle. I started with T in the 50, next time I was 300, then 409, and this trip 502 but test was taken two weeks early this cycle due to my out of area working.

Hey Leo!

I have been on some type of HRT for six (6) years, ever since removal of a testicle because of testicle removal, necessary as a result of uncontrolled prostate infection. I have had prostate infection for 15+ years now, so am on constant antibiotic of one sort or another. Started with shots: good, quick results, but VERY PAINFUL injection because of thickness of liquid and also necessary to do every 14 days. Tried patch; didn't like. Irritated skin and not much improvement. Went to TESTOPEL pellets and I can't say enough about how beneficial they are to me. Unfortunately, I am unable to receive more than four (4) pellets and no more frequent than every four (4) months. This is because my hemoglobin raises to an unsafe level. With my history of melanoma, my oncologist has 'compromised' to allow me the above protocol. Normal level of testosterone in male is somewhere between 300-700. After my testicle removal and testosterone level taken, mine was 87. Even with the diminished number of pellets of four (4) allowed me, I still feel improvement as soon as 3-4 days after pellet insertion. I'm getting within ten (10) days of implantation and I really NEED it to be done. I'm emotional, depressed, fatigued, no energy, no libido etc. Yes, shrinking of remaining testicle has occurred, but benefits to me FAR outweigh this 'trade-off'. I have not noticed turtle effect. I am a 71-year-old. Hope this gives you some insight. Have a good day.

Thanks Bob for your Posting. Sorry to hear of your removal though - Your happy with the pellets and I am sure I know that is all that matters.

What about anyone else out there? I am just reading into any Plus or Minus with the Pellets from all Ages, Situations etc.

Since I got my 10, I am still sore, NOT bad at all. Only been 3 days to the second now. Really haven't felt any difference yet. Wondering when it will. Can we continue sharing?

Just a quick reply this time, Leo. I know of men who don't really notice a significant difference until about a week after. Hang in there! I'll be surprised if you don't experience some positive effects, soon.

I have been on gel for eight years and I used a lot - 100mg per day and I only recently switched to Testopel. On Gel I was able to keep my T at around 700. So I lost my hair due to the DHT and my BPH was probably made worse (swelling of the prostate). On the other hand, I have more muscles and look better, and I lost my flab around my waist. My libido was greatly improved, and my mood seemed better. I had low bone mass which has improved over the years. I lost one of my testicles due to post vasectomy pain so HRT really has been necessary for me. I think I will change back to gel from using Testopel as I prefer a constant T level - the Testopel starts out at 600 for me but the urologist says I will be down to 300 or so at three months when I would get 10 more pellets. Plus my butt hurt for a week.

George is right! I had the 'pain' first time and after telling Doc about it, he goes higher than the belt line and there isn't so much pressure there when you sit. I'm VERY light-complected, so do get bruises of interesting blues, greens and yellows each time. **grin**. Who cares?

Interesting, Mine was eft below the Belt Line.. I checked and I do have a big Bruise, Not too painful anymore. Not on the Butt where I actually sit on it so that must be a Good thing.. I can actually sit. Have any of you had it around that area? If so- which is best? ls it so that the more this is done, the less it hurts? Do we end up any war wounds seen? Thank you all for your responses. Really does help!

Hey Leo! Bob here again -- *** grin *** As for placement, MY own personal preference is ABOVE belt line, or slightly under it. Just NOT on butt, itself. The only thing I find I am careful of by about 4-5th day after implantation is when sliding INTO the car seat. If I'm not careful, I have 'quick reminder' of pain. The bruising -- for me anyway -- is EACH TIME I receive the implants. Sometimes it is worse; sometimes not so much. I'm sure it has something to do with the force and pressure Doc uses on the trochar as he is inserting the small rice-sized pellets. Hope this helps!~

I DO know what you mean, as when I first found this site, it helped greatly, just to get various opinions/experiences from other guys who could relate to situation. I always anticipate when I see there is a recent posting. Hope your day is well. Here in Iowa, we are enjoying a beautiful autumn day, with temp in mid-50s.

I am sure there are others, I get 12 pellets every 3 months. This Nov will have me on them for a year now. I also take a low dose of clomiphene citrate which keeps your testicles from shrinking and give a softer crash when the end of the cycle hits you. The improvements in life are too numerous to mention. The top advantage is my moods improvement. I don't think I was suffering from depression, but I had no drive and was just down most the time. That is gone replaced with the old "I can do anything attitude and action. Morning wood is normal again, actually wood all during the night is the norm now. I can't remember the last time I woke up during the night with wood wasn't trying to make a tent. I have lost a little weight, added mass, and now am hiking again and doing 5 mile walks every evening, and some weights. I have said this before but I wish I had started it a long time ago. It gave me my life back. My levels at the end of a cycle run 300 to 490, I suspect they climb up to the 600 to 800 range at their peak. My cycle time is short but they think that is due to my activity level. Last note, Bob was on line when I started and has also been a lot of help.

Hey George!

You mentioned clomiphene. I've not heard of that. Is that a prescription? I'd love to have something to help with the 'rotten mood'/depression that affects me each time I am about a month away from implantation... and as YOU know, I'm only getting the four (4) pellets each four (4) months. Still I "crash" each time. Next Wednesday (Nov. 16) is my "happy day" once again. I told my Doc once I'd "meet him in a dark alley" if that were the ONLY way I could get my pellets. He smiled. Good guy. We've been together close to 50 years, ever since he first opened his practice. You guys have a good week. Always good to share and get additional 'outlooks/experiences' from other guys on this topic. Also George - thanks for the compliment. I've always always always felt each guy here adds to ALL of our knowledge-base.

Clomiphene citrate is a prescription. It is listed as a fertility medication for women, but also is used to increase sperm count in men. I take 25 mg each day, and have had no shrinkage of testicles. I would say if your wife is younger you may need to use care to prevent pregnancy. My wife is past that stage so not a problem here. When I got my first pellets I discussed the atrophy issue with my doctor. He recommended this to prevent shrinkage. The better part is I think it prevents me from bottoming out at the end of each cycle.

Hey George, what does this do exactly for you to not have this flaccid issue? Are there any side effects to worry over? Did you share your age? I am in my 40's and definitely want to finally experience Pinerty! No "Full" libido and horrible "Flaccid", embarrassment until now is all I have loved! Happy Husband, Father - In love with life altered by this 1 Flaw, sad! Please share more and how you came up to this working for you. I am excited to know more. Maybe I as well can try and see if I share my Happiness success! I aside of the Pellets am wrapping to help with turtle effect though it currently is but momentary!
