Updated

Just had Testopel pellets inserted in my backside. Forgot to ask doctor how long until they take effect. He's out of town.

Headed to the doc's office on Wednesday for pellets. I'm 33, suffered from fatigue and weakness since puberty. All these years later, I finally decided to figure out what was going on with my body. T count in the high 100's. My urologist recommended pellets right off the bat and said I'd see the best results with this avenue. I'm hoping (as most of us do) for it to work miracles. :)

Don't hope necessarily for the 'miracle', Mark, but my $ is betting you're gonna see some good results from the implantation. Most -- but not all -- men do! We'll be interested in your 'follow-up' posts as to your reaction to the procedure, level of discomfort, etc. Hopin' for the best for you. Take care ~ ~

Mark, I have had mine 7 days today. I am not the same person. My T also ranged in the 150 to 200 range. The doctor started with 12 pellets, no pain during the insertion, and very little after the process. I started to notice a change on day two, by day I've I was ready to climb mountains. Have not felt this good in years. My energy level is high, libido is also high. ED seems to be a thing of the past, and most important is my moods have perked up. I wish I had done this a long time ago. Good luck, hope it work as good for you as it did for me.

Almost two weeks now. I still feel full of energy, but without the sharp edged side. Even over the holiday I lost a little weight (2 pounds). I was not trying so feel good about it. My skin has changed, has more oil and fewer wrinkles. Libido is back, mood is stable, and after two weeks I don't want to go climb mountains. I never did have the pain some people discussed. Light discoloration at injection site, some swelling but not much than nothing out of the norm. Took about a week to be back to normal. I am a lot more active now. That may be why I dropped some weight. Testopel has been all positive for me.

I'm on my second one. It's a bit tender or sore for 3 or 4 days. Then a bump lasts a few Weeks but that's normal

I was on testopel for 9 months. I started with 10 and felt okay. The effects wore off quickly and I felt like I needed an additional round by the second month but had to wait until month 4. Month 4 comes and 12 pellets were inserted again it took some time!e for me to feel the effects but by the middle of the third week I noticed my mood begin to improve. That said, three months in I felt horrible again. No energy, depressed, fatigue etc. My doctor stuck with his initial suggestion of every 3-4 months. Round 3 he scaled down to 10 pellets no explanation why but I trusted his judgement. Same effect as the previous two times. I was disappointed... I asked that we try injections instead but this MD uses pellets as a low T treatment. We scheduled am appointment for a 4th round but I told myself if I achieve the same feelings as the previous rounds I'm done. Sure enough, same results. Ehhhh at best... I saw many other endo's all of whom were reluctant to treat my low T. So I went on my own path... I wouldn't suggest it and I'd much rather treat my low T the way it should through pharmaceutical grade laboratories. The MD also suggested I take a break from all testosterone which really confused me. Why take a break when I am just beginning to feel better? Well, I'm now on cypionate taking 300mgs a week and feel good with very little side effects. It's been months since my testopel insertions. I wish I didn't have to go this route but I felt I needed to. Congratulations to all whom achieve great results on testopel. I wish I did but I didn't.

I'm scheduled for pellets tomorrow morning. The past two weeks have been pretty rough with no energy and tired all the time. My legs gets to feeling like rubber. Does anyone else on here feel like that? My wife asked me what I wanted for Christmas and I said just some pellets. She laughed but I was pretty much serious.

I finally had the pellets inserted...a couple of weeks late. Thanks to a pretty incompetent P.A. at my doc's office, my insurance had a hell of a time getting the approval for the treatment.
I was given 10 pellets, the procedure was a breeze. Day 2, the area is a bit sore. It feels like the normal pain associated with a deep bruise.
Here's to living life elevated! ;)

Mark ~ ~ Too bad you had an inexperienced PA that ended up doing the procedure. But, I DO feel you will find the benefits worth it. My third (3rd) day post-insertion is usually the most sore personally and I continue to be careful getting in and out of the car seat. That seems to cause me most discomfort. Good luck and I hope you begin reaping benefits soon. Keep us all posted.

Bob
The PA didn't do the procedure, my doc did (and I was in great hands.) It was my PA that was terrible at getting the necessary info to my insurance company for approval. I hate being lied to. Especially from someone in the office of your doctor. Things quickly got resolved after my insurance company happily played back all telephone recordings between the PA and their office. Imo, it would be easier to do it right the first time instead of having a version of events concocted for me to hear, a version for the doc's office and a different one for the insurance company. Sheesh. ,

Coming up on three weeks on the 14th. Lot of changes, and for me all seem to be positive. One of my biggest issues had been my mood swings, always tired, and would bight off your head if you crossed me. That seems to be under control again. I do catch myself, when confronted with something I see as a waste of time, or issues which I have covered too many times, and am able to box it without sending the room for cover. I had always been able to box things, but in the last few years I seemed to be overly blunt on many issues. Energy is back, I am sleeping better, at least 6 or 7 hours a night which is much better than pre Testospel. Libido is back to life. I may be sending off signals, Not on propose, but do see a lot more women making eye contact with me. It sort of bothers me a bit. One of the other things I have noticed is my skin. It has more oil than it did, seems thicker or smoother. I had reached a point where my hands looked like old skin and would scratch easily not it is smooth, and back to a tougher hide consistency. I will try to update on a weekly basis, thus far all my responses have been positive from little to no pain to the kick start of my old self. I did notice in the first week I thought I could do anything again. Not sure if this was the jump of T in my system or I was playing mind games on myself. I was lucky to have a very busy work week which kept me from climbing mountains or sky diving. Now I am down to maybe running a half marathon or one of the half iron men. OK a 5 K might be OK to start back with. I have to wonder if when you go from 150 T to where ever mine is if we mentally think we are invincible like when we were teens. Some of us might need some help getting through the first week or two. A wife that tells you you can’t do that, or a very good insurance policy. lol

Week 4, and I think testosterone has reached a steady state. Things I have noticed are mood changes (for the better), skin is smother with fewer wrinkles, libido is back, weight is close to where I was, down 3 pounds but body seems to be changing to less fat more solid. I notice it more in my arms. Energy is like I was 20 again, and at night I sleep like a rock which is a big change. The only strange thing is I have had two or three night sweats. Will wake up and it looks like I have been running on a hot day. I also noticed my ming being sharper. Names, numbers seem to stay in place again. I wish I had done this sooner.

This will make two months from the first inserts implants. The time has flown by. I noticed many changes over the period which has to be related to the Testospel. One which had bothered me was the low energy level Pre-Testospel. That is gone. My days are wide open again just as when I was in my twenties. My mood and outlook on life has also improved. I seem to have recovered my ability not to bite people’s heads off when I find them annoying. I have lost weight even though it has been the pig out holiday season. I am down 14 pounds in two months. I think this is due to my increased activity level. My skin changed after the treatment. I had noticed the skin on my hands seemed dry, thin and wrinkled. I think thin skin is what I call getting scratched too easily. I now seem to have thick skin, fewer wrinkles and normal not dry skin. My libido corrected itself within the first week. It's a lot better than before the treatment. In general I think the process has been positive for me, I am eager to see how high 12 pellets took my T levels. I get blood work tomorrow.

Eleven weeks from receiving twelve pellets. To date I can not find a negative in the process. I had my blood work repeated at the two month point and was at 482 total. The rest all looked good. I go back on March 10 to get my 2nd round. I think it will be 12 again, but if they still stay in the 500 range I may ask for more pellets next time. Changes I have seen are in my mental quickness, my moods are much better, energy levels very good, libido coming back, and body weight dropping. I also see some change in my body conditioning. I have not started weights yet, but plan to start this week to work on my chest and arms. I walk and hike a lot and my legs are in good shape as long as I have a knee brace. This has been all positive for me. I think the thing which hit me the hardest was the mood change. It was like someone had just cut the lights back on.

George:

I'm DEFINITELY happy with your results and can identify with your experiences. They are almost identical to what I've had for five (5) years now, especially the 'mood elevation'. Unfortunately, I'm in a 'downward spiral' currently and "emotional meltdown" as my Docs have "cut me off" from all TESTOPEL at the present time because my Hemoglobin was at 19.6 and they said that unacceptable. They are depriving me of the TESTOPEL to see if that is what is causing that high hemoglobin reading. One of "possible side effects" of TESTOPEL is the high hemoglobin, which in turn can 'thicken blood'. I had a slight stroke a bit over a month ago and they are doing their 'due diligence' with the TESTOPEL investigation. I'm very honest -- George -- when I tell you that if they find I can no longer have the benefits from the TESTOPEL, it will be a dark dark day for me. There are some other possible treatments, apparently, for the high hemoglobin, including the old fashioned "bloodletting". I'm gonna stop -- no sense dribbling on with MY concerns right now. I just wanted to offer you a big smile and congratulations with the good results you are experiencing. One other quick thing: glad your Doc will give you twelve (12) pellets. My Doc will not go above 10 and I have only one (1) testicle, one removed in 2010 from extreme prostate infection that "ate through" the testicle itself. Enjoy what you have, friend. Enjoy!

Bob, I give blood every three months (doubles most of the time). I have always had high hemoglobin and the blood I give keeps me in the 15 to 16 range while helping someone who needs it. I know it is still high but you can only give so much blood.

Yes ................. I used to give blood regularly; have my 20 gallon sticker, but because of the ongoing prostate infection and being on two (2) antibiotics constantly (Cipro and Duricef), blood bank no longer will take my donations.

Have a good night, George!

I am just shy of 4 months now, and can tell the levels are dropping. Just do not have the energy I had, and my sleep is at best irregular. The other signs are my libido is dropping off, and I am quicker to get frustrated with the world around me. I have the next round on March 10th, hope those around me will survive till then LOL. I feel sure the Clomiphene is helping keep the T levels higher than in the past (was at 154 when I started). I will get blood work when I go back on 3/10 which will tell me if it has reset my on body's T production. I still think it is the best thing I did for myself in a long time, can't wait till the next implants.
