Just had Testopel pellets inserted in my backside. Forgot to ask doctor how long until they take effect. He's out of town.

Just a quick reply to you today, George! I'm so happy that you are experiencing only positives w/ implantation. As for insurance restrictions, it appears, it depends on the individual insurance company. I am happy you are covered for the full #. Yayy! I can't speak to whether T-level can affect joints or not, but whether or not in your head or 'for real', enjoy it my friend. Take care, and please keep us updated. It's good inspiration for others on this site to hear of the successes. (Hey! Don't eat too much turkey on Thursday -- that won't be good on those joints, you know!) *grin* Sorry -- couldn't resist!

Day 2, and still not enough pain to notice. The only thing I cut out was the hot tub for a few days. I am noticing a difference in mood, and morning wood and it is only day two. Seem to be sleeping better too, but still wake up sweating. I think this is just the hormone base line changing. Energy level is up, and for some reason my bad knee is doing better. I don't think it has to do with the Tesopel, but did change after day one.

Your improvement continues! If you're not feeling significant pain by today, I'm thinking you most likely won't. I DID notice the increase in sweating when I first started the implantations years ago, but no longer. Yes, morning wood occurs within first day or so and also noticed an increase in nipple sensitivity. Keep enjoying and have a good 'turkey day'.

If you experience nipple sensitivity or breast tenderness that is an indicator that your estrogen levels are a little high. To relieve the discomfort you can take oil of evening primrose. A supplement that can be found at most drug stores.

No, it shouldn't affect your testosterone levels....BUT, I would ask your practitioner to run your estrogen levels 4 weeks post insertion. You want your Est to Test ratio to be less than 10%. If higher than that, you may experience mood swings, weepy, overly sensitive as well as the nipple sensitivity. Treatment would be DIM (supplement) or Femara or Arimidex (prescription) which can block the conversion of Test to Est. This event is known as aromatization.

It may be in my head, but my mood, even in stressful work situations, is much better. I did not even get frustrated with long lines at the DMV, or the agent having to do everything twice. I had forgotten how this really picks your mood up. It has now been a full 48 hours, and any pain that was there is gone. Never was much. With 12 pellets the Doctor hopes to get my levels over 600. He said it would take 7 days to reach a steady level. If that level in seven days continues to ramp up my mood, they may find me running an Iron Man or mountain climbing. This is hands down already a winner for me.

End of day three. (Thanksgiving day) Still no pain, bandage came off on its own today. I don't see a lot of discoloration, just a spot where the needle went in. I feel a lump where the pellets run in a V pattern. Still all positive results, and feeling better every day.

Day 4: Energy level is up, today was wall to wall work with physical activity that would have kicked my butt a week ago. Libido continues to climb even after a successful morning event. I think the one thing I need to watch is not trying too much physical work too fast. I may feel 20 again, but it will take some time to get this 6 decades body back in shape. Mood is sky rocketing. This was one of my biggest concerns. I had reached the "I don't care" mode, which even I did not like. Now back to the "I will fix it mode". I never felt this way on shots or jells. It is all around better and I am just on day 4!

Ah-hhhhhh George! You make me smile as I read your post. Good for you. Glad the implants have done for you what you were hoping for. Your 'morning event', I'm guessing' will increase in frequency as you reach the 4-WEEK level, even. I'm anxious to hear from Doc this next week as he had me repeat my labwork re: Hemoglobin level of 19. I've been so "tired" and unexplainedly (such a word?) so. There is an oft-related relationship to high hemoglobin in this range to people feeling extremely fatigued. Also some relationship to high hemoglobin in this range and making of kidney stones. Since I just had my 15 and 16th stone 2 months ago, requiring cystoscopy, I'd be happy to get on a program of "blood letting" on a regular basis if it will help resolve these two (2) issues. Keep a truckin',George .... enjoy the benefits. Take care ~ ~

Day 5, Was a long day, and I never seemed to lag or get tired. Was driving a motor home from 8:45 this AM till 7:30 this evening. Had a midway break to visit with family, and have lunch, but the rest was rolling down the interstate while people slept in the back. I am still wired at 8:30 but may be due to the coffee at 5:00. Energy levels seem full speed. I have also noticed a change in the oil levels of my skin. Hard to discribe, but skin looks smother and maybe thicker on my hands. Has to be the pellets or something I have been eating. I don't use any skin products.
Bob, when you see your Dr see if he is OK with giving blood. It always makes me feel better. I try to keep mine between 14 and 16. If you are over 19 the red cross will not take it. Not sure about other groups. I give every 90 days, and on the few times I had doctor visits within a week or so would have hemoglobin about 14. Still a little high, but much better than 18.

Thanx for the tip re: blood, George! Will definitely check with him as soon as possible. Ball's in HIS court right now, waiting for him to get back to me after the labwork. Again ............ your comments regarding your day of driving etc. ....... all sounds great with results. Never noticed any skin difference, but I'm of the belief that every person is a bit different with all medications and procedures. What is normal for one person .......not necessarily normal for another. Take care ~~

Headed to the doc's office on Wednesday for pellets. I'm 33, suffered from fatigue and weakness since puberty. All these years later, I finally decided to figure out what was going on with my body. T count in the high 100's. My urologist recommended pellets right off the bat and said I'd see the best results with this avenue. I'm hoping (as most of us do) for it to work miracles. :)

Don't hope necessarily for the 'miracle', Mark, but my $ is betting you're gonna see some good results from the implantation. Most -- but not all -- men do! We'll be interested in your 'follow-up' posts as to your reaction to the procedure, level of discomfort, etc. Hopin' for the best for you. Take care ~ ~

I'm on my second one. It's a bit tender or sore for 3 or 4 days. Then a bump lasts a few Weeks but that's normal

I was on testopel for 9 months. I started with 10 and felt okay. The effects wore off quickly and I felt like I needed an additional round by the second month but had to wait until month 4. Month 4 comes and 12 pellets were inserted again it took some time!e for me to feel the effects but by the middle of the third week I noticed my mood begin to improve. That said, three months in I felt horrible again. No energy, depressed, fatigue etc. My doctor stuck with his initial suggestion of every 3-4 months. Round 3 he scaled down to 10 pellets no explanation why but I trusted his judgement. Same effect as the previous two times. I was disappointed... I asked that we try injections instead but this MD uses pellets as a low T treatment. We scheduled am appointment for a 4th round but I told myself if I achieve the same feelings as the previous rounds I'm done. Sure enough, same results. Ehhhh at best... I saw many other endo's all of whom were reluctant to treat my low T. So I went on my own path... I wouldn't suggest it and I'd much rather treat my low T the way it should through pharmaceutical grade laboratories. The MD also suggested I take a break from all testosterone which really confused me. Why take a break when I am just beginning to feel better? Well, I'm now on cypionate taking 300mgs a week and feel good with very little side effects. It's been months since my testopel insertions. I wish I didn't have to go this route but I felt I needed to. Congratulations to all whom achieve great results on testopel. I wish I did but I didn't.

I finally had the pellets inserted...a couple of weeks late. Thanks to a pretty incompetent P.A. at my doc's office, my insurance had a hell of a time getting the approval for the treatment.
I was given 10 pellets, the procedure was a breeze. Day 2, the area is a bit sore. It feels like the normal pain associated with a deep bruise.
Here's to living life elevated! ;)

Mark ~ ~ Too bad you had an inexperienced PA that ended up doing the procedure. But, I DO feel you will find the benefits worth it. My third (3rd) day post-insertion is usually the most sore personally and I continue to be careful getting in and out of the car seat. That seems to cause me most discomfort. Good luck and I hope you begin reaping benefits soon. Keep us all posted.
