How Long Before Testopel Pellets Start Working? (Page 17)
UpdatedJust had Testopel pellets inserted in my backside. Forgot to ask doctor how long until they take effect. He's out of town.
Chisholm,
Thank you for the heads up on that! I will definitely look into it!
Ginger
Bob,
Just got 10 Testopel pellets inserted 7 days ago. Feel much better already. Starting level around 83; go for blood draw in 3 weeks to see if it's truly effective in raising my levels, or if it's a placebo effect. I let you know what the numbers are by then.
Hey Rob! That's good news to hear about you on a Friday afternoon. Happy for you and doubt seriously it is placebo-related. Some things are hard to "fake". Will continue to be interested in your progress. Enjoy the benefits you are experiencing and have a great weekend.
Rob,
Glad to hear you are feeling better already. I agree with Bob. Testopel has totally changed the quality of my life and I'm sure Bob would say the same thing. I would bet just about anything you will love Testopel because "it works." Look forward to seeing how your numbers come back. I'm 45 and have as much energy as I did when I was 30.
Brian
Brian, thanks for the response. I'm 45, too and feel a definite uptick in energy. Looking forward to positive results.
Hi. Iam from Australia. My T is around 115. Four days ago had 3 pellets inserted just below rib cage. 200mg each pellet. You guys talk about getting 10 , 12 ,8. This seems a lot. After four days , don't feel any diff. I guess every one not the same. My age is 67
Ashley-- I have ten (10) implanted each three (3) months. Each pellet is 75 mg. as we have mentioned, each person is different. Each need/case is different. I've not heard of the location you mentioned. Much luck to you.
Ashley, welcome to our chit chat. You say your pellets are 200mg each, but is the brand Testopel? That's pretty much what most folks on this site are getting, but as I guess all of ours are 75mg. I usually (4 years now) get 12 pellets. Is your doc in the US or Australia
My doctor has 200mg generic pellets but my insurance won't touch them because they are not FDA approved in the U.S. I have several friends that use the 200mg pellets and have great success with them and they are about half the cost of testopel and have 125 more mg pill thus they need less pellets each time.
Hey! Ginger weighing in again...Testopel is FDA approved for 75mg pellets with a maximum dose of 6 pellets for men only. Any dose over that or given to women is off label, therefore no longer FDA approved. T200's our drs use contain Bioidentical testosterone, they contain FDA approved T and FDA approved Stearic acid, which is a binding agent. Keep in mind that every pharmaceutical that has been recalled was FDA approved. Our pellets, which are only available through our certified practitioners, last 5-6 months in men. 4-5 months in women.
2 weeks in feel better-happier and loving the morning "wood" even though it keeps me awake would rather have it than not...we'll see what the future brings...no regrets so far. You guys let me know what to expect from this point forward.
Nomad -- no one can say exactly what to expect as each guy has individual characteristics which may indeed affect expectations. I can only speak to MY individual experiences. Having been on TESTOPEL now 4+ years! I have the strongest and most consistent results from 1 week - 2 months POST- implantation. After that time period, moods, energy level, libido, weight management and desire deteriorate noticeably. I'm on 3 - month schedule and always anticipate when I can be "re-charged". Continued good results and outcomes to you.
Nomad,
Has your energy level increased dramatically yet? Testopel will give you the benefit you said below plus you will just feel so much better than you did before. I really feel like I've somewhat found the fountain of youth again coming from a testosterone level of 60 to 921. I had my pellets implanted on 12/13/13 and my level is still 921 as of today and my estrogen levels are fine and feeling good. I wish you best Nomad.
Yes my energy level has increased....and I needed that. The best part is just feeling happier and good and I think the increase in libido is part of it. Hoping I don't have crashes or mood swings like I've heard about.
Should I get injections to maintain levels between pellets?...really leery of the up and down thing....this is my first round of pellets and not sure what to expect....advise would be appreciated...thanks nomad
Nomad -- most doctors would not offer this as an option. Since this is your first implantation, you need to get familiar with your body and how it reacts to this entire process. Doc most likely will fine tune your needs by adjusting length of time between procedures, as needed. Just be aware of changes that occur and document things by writing them down. This will give you a good resource when communicating with your doctor. Good luck, friend.
Arimedex? what is that for? how does it benifit you?
Arimidex is an Estrogen block er. In some people, the body takes the extra testosterone and converts it to estrogen resulting in less free testosterone. The Arimidex inhibits the conversion.
Sadly my doc didn't put me on a block er until my 5th of 6 rounds of implants. #5 had 16 pellets and # 6 had only 10 pellets. My levels were highest a month after round 6 this past November. Insurance was lost at the turn of new year. Still take Arimidex once a week along with DIM(natural E-blocker) 3-5 times a week.
Has anyone noticed testical shrinkage while on implants or other forms of T-therapy. Mine have apparently grown back to normal. Thought I was imagening it, but it was comented on by more than one girlfriend.
Arimidex and Femara are aromatase inhibitors. About 40% of men convert testosterone to estrogen, and that can have negative side effects to Testosterone therapy. Drs need to be careful that they treat men for too much estrogen, but they also must be careful to not drive estrogen to low (that is when you get the roid rage). That is why I'm concerned about the number of drs that really don't kmow how to treat men with testopel. There is a lot more to HRT than just sticking pellets subcutaneously!
Ginger, you guys getting closer to Chicago?
When I Google "BHRT in Chicagoland area" I get Body Logics. Anybody have any luck with them. I need to find one place to go for my T-therapy and thyroid management. Originally put on Armour by my GP for about a month in August of '12 and referred to an Endocrinologist in Sept of '12 who replaced the Armour with Levothyroxine(T4) only. Every time I had Testopel implanted I'd gain 10-15 pounds in a week to 10 days. Compound that over 4 rounds of implants and I went from 252 to 310. Felt good at 252 great at 235 in 2011. With each weight increase I would have the rapid gain and hover a few pounds and then have implants and rapid gain and hover at new weight and repeat.
Neither doc seemed concerned. Nutrition did not change that much. 80/20 eating habits healthy fats and spinich smoothies.
