How Long After Taking Methadone Can I Take A Percocet

Is it normal for a doctor to switch me from oxy 10/325 to Methadone 20 GM's a day? I have severe back pain and the oxy wasn't working anymore after being in it for 6 years!

Did you mean 20mgs of Methadone? It does not come in grams.

There is no hard and fast rule for pain management, it is up to your doctor and what they think would work best for you. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.

If you're not happy about taking Methadone, then you are free to inform your doctor that you'd like to try something else.

I was strolling through and found this question.. sometimes to be honest drs don't even care. My mother in law goes to a pain clinic and she is on both methadone and instant relief oxycontin and he has her taking both daily at the exact same time. I don't understand the point in it considering what methadone is basically used for but for some reason he feels the need to just prescribe her both to take.
