Hello, Wandy! How is your friend?
How was he instructed to take it?
In most cases, when given for addiction treatment or maintenance, it's given in one daily dose, but for pain, it's spread out thoughout the day to try to give better pain management.
This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.
Has he spoken to his doctor? He may need a higher dosage.
