Hello, Dave! How are you? I'm very sorry that you're in so much pain.

Unfortunately, your new doctor is doing what they've been directed to do by the DEA. They are supposed to limit patients to no more than the equivalent of 120mgs of Morphine a day and some states have lowered it even further to only the equivalent of 100mgs a day, except in cases where someone has intractable pain caused by a possibly fatal condition, such as stage 4 cancer.

The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.

Many people are having to deal with the same thing and they are mad and miserable. I wish I had better news for you, but I do not.

How long have you been taking the Horizant? It can help with some types of nerve pain, but similar to the Lyrica you were taking, it takes 4 to 5 weeks, before it will reach its full level of efficacy in your body to see if it helps.
