ok am 16 and pregnant and i have the flu, like runny nose,watery eyes and the bad cough. my mother bought me histatussin dm. i was wondering if i can take this kind of medicine

The active ingredient in this, from Barbados, is listed as being Poly Oxyl 40, a form of hydrogenated Castor Oil.

It is an emulsifier, which explains how it would help loosen up congestion and possibly aid in the coughing.
