Looking for a few doctors that prescribe methadone. Im drivind daily two hrs and its killing me physicaly finacially just need some help any doctor in the middle ie east tennessee area. I would be soo grateful for some help. Thanks for ur time!!!

Hi, Im in Nash, tn area, i'm on opiates for pain chronic pain. But recently my Dr. has decided to take me off my oxymorphone that i've been on for years an had that genetic evaluation done to show it was the right medication for me. But now he has put me on opana gel pill which i can not use well due to auto immune problem with my stomach. My gastrologist wrote him a letter letting him know my stomach would not be able to absorb a gel pill. Well my pain dr had told me he would write for oxymorphone again but he lied. Now he wants me on morphine which im allergic too. So next he said the fentanyl patch, takin away all my oxycodone 30mgs an my opana 40mg which im going through withdrawal coz of the switch. My blood pressure has been through the roof at the pain clinic they called the ambulance now im on bp meds now. I'm afraid to go on something stronger, so im looking for a methadone Dr. to treat me. Cause of all the new laws going into affect this year. WE almost need a lawyer to fight the Gov an how there screwing over us. The real ppl who need the medication due to chronic pain an so many issues its just crazy...

Hey, To anyone who knows of a dr who will prescribe methadone for pain management in Cookeville, Tennessee. It would be greatly appreciated .I have been driving to Chattanooga and I just cannot afford it anymore...I have tried to even find Suboxone drs who will take my insurance with no luck...This is tiring and I am sick right now....Thanks ,Angel

A regular private physician is not allowed to prescribe it for addiction treatment, they can only prescribe it for pain.

Addiction treatment must be done in a clinical setting where they are specially trained in treating such issues.

There are phydicians in Tennessee who prescribe methadone only for pain. If you have severe enough circumstances and have a valied reason, then it can and will happen, although under the new laws recently enscted, no physican is able to prescribr for sddiction excrpt an sddictionalist or rehab center. My advice is a pain management who specialize in psin. Most of thrse Drs sre anstheologist (spelled wrong). If you have a good pharmacist, some will tell you of drs who prescribe. Also, you csn ask the pain clinis themself as some do snd some don't. Obiviouslyz, I wish you well.

I have been on 150 mg a day on methadone driving to a pain management clinic in Galesburg il since 2008 started at 110 mg a day for pain .now he is shutting it down November 2017 he said find you another doctor I'm in southeastern my any help would be great I'm 55 years old and don't know what to do
