Help For Severe Migraine Pain Current Medications 100 Mcg Duragesic And Vicodin

Updated

I have severe migraines I am currently taking 100 mcg of Duragesic patch changed every 48 hours and 5 10mg Vicodin. I have have bad reactions to preventative medications, chiropractic antidepressants and have built up a tolerance to pain meds. My pain is so severe I can't keep my food down. Does any one know if there is a higher dosage of Duragesic/Fentynal that would help with the pain. I am miserable and so sick I don't want to get up.

Durgesic does come in higher doses. I've heard if 250 mcg. Be aware if you get a terminally ill disease such as cancer, this is what is used to treat it. Nothing stronger.

I have cancer and it gets so bad that all I want to do is stay in bed.I am on the fentyl patch 25mcg and I have had two back surgeries last one was a fusion and I have had half my right lung taken out and then in this year I had half my left breast taken out it was cancer also. How do you tell your dr that the patch isn't working and I need a break through meds?I would have expected the cancer to be on the right but it ended up on the left do you guys think it has metastised to the left side I am in constant pain and do not know how to ask the dr for break through meds.My breast is so sire and hurts so bad all I want to do is cry and my back hurts the same and am in the bed most if the time I can not even enjoy my grandkids cause ine has c.p. and she senses that I am in so much pain she asked in her way was I going to die and g to heaven with her papaw and baby Jesus thats the way we explain Jesus to her.She toldme to take the patch off snd I told her it was there to help me so if anyone has a answer for me let me know Please Help Thank You in advance.

Exception: Move to the UK and have a GP write you a script for Brompton's Cocktail to sip concurrently with B&O Suprettes.

Hi about Migraines, I get them all the time because I have a neck condition diagnosed as Cervical Spondylosis and it involves many nerves in my head.. I have tried the patches too but the side effects made me feel like I was breathing but could not get air in my lungs as though I was being smothered if that make any sense. So the doctor put me on Morphine at that time. That helped a little as to take the edge off at the least. Then the neck problem got really bad when I started dropping things out of my hands and getting cramps that were painful and actually had to use my other hand to straighten my other hand. At that point I went to my Neurologist as he referred me to a Neurosurgeon. It took a 2 week wait for the Neurosurgeon and by that time my hands improved and the cramps would only happen on occasion so I decided not to get the neck surgery unless the frequency of it started up again.. ANYWAY, the Neurologist had prescribed me Fioricet and it was like a miracle pill for me. It stopped my headaches, nausea and really made my neck, back, total knee replacement and arthritis feel so much better. If your body can tolerate Aspirin, you might try Fiorinal. One has Tylenol and the other has Aspirin. But it is addictive even though I don't think he prescribes me enough of it because it will only work for a few hours and returns quickly most of the times. But for me it is total relief for at least that long of period per day and sometimes lots more of the time. I also will get gabapentin now too. Not sure that will help but I'll give it a try.
I really hope this may help you out. Good luck anyway and I hope you will find something that does help you.
