Help Cost Of Oxycodone Killing Me (Page 4)

been going to pain managment clinic in tampa florida this entire year the name brand pharmacy;s don't carry the medication so i cant use my insurance. so mom and pop pharmacies carry it but wont take insurance. Heres my problem the first prescription for 240 30mg oxycodone was $260 the next $340 the next $1,500 the next $1,300 the next $1,100 and last month he said it would be $1,300 i told him i could go down the street and get them for $900 then after debating price for 30 minutes he took $890 for 240 oxycodone 30 mg. they also only take CASH. Does this seem legal to anyone?

I live in Ohio and have insurance, I get 240 30mg oxycodone at CVS for $8.00. I have gotten them before insurance would pay for them because I was going to Canada fishing and didn't want the hassle of trying to find CVS or even just getting them filled out if the country. I paid $295.29 cash for 240 "M" box 30's on Oct. 11 2014. I about crapped my pants when the pharmacist told me how much they would be as I've been prescribed the 30 mg oxycodone since my car accident in 2006 with this being only the second time I've paid cash and not used my insurance. The other time was in 2007 when I just ran out before the month was over and since my insurance only covers a 30 day supply I believe I paid around $55.00 for 90 30 mg "M" boxes.

Try what another poster suggested and contact the drug manufacturer and see what type of plans they have to help folks defray the cost of their medications. My mother did it with Nexium and Prozac when they first came out and she ended up paying around $15.00 each or so for a 3 month supply. Maybe checking with CVS or other chain pharmacys out of state for mail order or maybe the manufacturer can help with locating mail order option for you. Good Luck and don't give up, there is a solution out there somewhere.

Dont feel bad I just paid $233 for 90 30 mg oxycodone at rite aid..no other pharmacy near me south philadelphia or in broomal / springfield had it in stock. one walgreens that I got from 2 months ago for $103 is permanently not stocking them. last month diff walgreens paid $128..& now 233$. cause no pharmacies have them in stock...it makes me sick that they can do this..:(

I had to go to mail order thru my insurance company to get my Oxycodone 30 mg,and my methadones, the insurance covers it and my co pay is only6.00 maybe you all need to go thru mail order thru your insurance companies! I have a medicare advantage plan,most cover these. Hope this helped,good luck!

I am a disabled vet and have the same problem. Every new Dr you get is like proving your disabled all over again. I just pay for my pain meds out of pocket. Its just less hassle in the end. The VA is just another worthless agency there to take care of itself and not the vets like us who need it.

Surf-I just moved to FL; was hit by a car and have a broken legs with a metal plate and pins. No one here will help or prescribe pain medication. I was on it when living in in now I'm suffering since I moved. Please help! Anyone! I can barely walk with my back and knee pain and I need to find a job. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Good grief - the cost ????? I am married to a man from Crystal Springs, Tampa who chose to come to Australia to live. The cost of prescriptions in Australia is $22.60, however both my husband and I are on age pensions so our cost is $6.10 per script. When we reach a ceiling of $392.00 (for the 2 of us) in one year our scripts are free. I had a AAA rushed into hospital for emergency surgery - THE cost? - NIL. My husband has been in and out of hospital as he had a condition - the cost? - NIL. I truly do not know how you can afford the medical costs in the States. This was a major reason for my husband to move to Australia.

Ummmm Pharmacies can not negotiate with a patient drug pricing. Pills are sold per price from reps....the more u buy the more u save but each month the price should remain the same unless the product has gone up in price or changed at manufacturer.

Absolutely! Now let's ask ourselves this, who are the drug dealers in this country? Yep you got it... pharmacists who only take "cash". This means they are getting them under the radar. Pharmacists, when they get an order from legitimate distributors have to account for every pill to the DEA.

Well I just paid $19.95 at Rite-Aid for 160 5mg Oxycodone, the month before it was $10.95, the months before that $1.60, go figure! In Seaside, Oregon!

You don't go to a pharmacy. It's all done through your insurance. They'll tell you how it works.

I'm in Tampa Fl as well you should go to fletcher pharmacy right in the parking lot as the hospital on Bruce b downs and fletcher. They carry everything. Or have your pain management director switch you to hydromorphone 8 mg. Which pain management doctor do you go to here?
