Headaches And Hydro Apap

So I have been taking hydrocodone apap 5-325 for about ten days and have had a non stop headaches almost the whole time...I take only three to four a day. Just wondering if this could be from dehydration, or the acetaminophen in them or are headaches just a common side effect. I've also heard something about a cold water extraction to remove the apap in them but don't know if that's necessary due to the lower dosage of apap I'm actually taking.(roughly 1400 mgs a day). The pills help with my back pain but this headache is getting frustrating...any ideas?

Hi Jake,

Did your headaches just start when you first began taking the medication, or did you frequently have them prior to taking it?

Some common side effects of Hydrocodone + Acetaminophen include:
Blurred vision; constipation; difficulty breathing; dizziness; drowsiness; flushing; lightheadedness; mental/mood changes; nausea; vomiting.

While "headache's" aren't specifically listed as a common side effect, I'm sure that any of those mentioned above can indirectly cause a pretty bad headache. Hypothetically speaking, if you have dizziness, lightheadedness, and difficulty breathing, then that would be one terrible headache in the making.

I also believe dehydration plays a big role in the severity of these headaches. I would suggest staying on top of having a glass of water with every meal as well as eating plenty of fruits and veggies throughout the day, as they contain adequate amounts of water too.
