Having Too Many Problems Filling My Msir 30mg Script Monthly So Need To Change...what Dose Of Oxycodone Is Equal To That? (Top voted first)

For approx the past six months I have had even more problems than usual filling my morphine ir 30 mg. twice there have been drug shortages. I need to change to an equivilant medication like roxicodone,or something similar. What dose of oxycodone is equal to 4 X msir 30mg per day??? I take a toal of 120 a month, in additon to taking a low dose of methadone as well. I dont want to increase the methadone so need to find something to replace the msir 30mg's.

Quit the equivalence tables Verwon and begin listening to me and my brother minoguesque.
How often must we tell you that these tables underestimate the power of oxycodone HCl?
PLEASE change take on board the actual experience of people who have been using these types of medicine for Many years.

Hello, and YES! OXYCODONE IS APROXIMATLY TWICE AS STRONG AS MORPHINE!! If I were taking 100mgs of morphine and had to switch to oxycodone, then I would need right around 50-57mgs of oxy....not exactly rocket science...

ive heard the exact opposite...that oxycodone is stronger than the morphine. Either way ive now seen some drug co's arent even making msir anymore so that may be my problem. my insurance will give me the generic oxycodone anyway i just am trying now to find out which is harder to get filled...oxy20 or oxy30(which would be a generic roxicodone for that one)? I have to take this medicine due to serious medical issues ive had since the late 90's-2000 and the one surgery I would even consider is not an option right now due to $ & the fact my insurance wont pay for it. right now medication is my only option. i wasnt able to find out much concering which dose would be the easiest to fill in my area...but didnt have much luck with that. I goto the dr tuesday and am discussing it with him them. Also need to find out how many tabs i can get before a pre authorization is needed. That may be the determining factor as to what dose i request. thanks for the help!!!!

Sorry, but OXYCONTIN is almost TWICE as strong as morphine. ...I've tried both over the last 20 years, and yes I also hear the same thing from many patients. ....HOUSE

You are very wrong about morphine being one and a half times stronger than oxycodone you have that backwards oxycodone is 1 1/2 times stronger than morphine

No, you have that backwards. Oxy is 1.5 stronger than msir.

I am currently taking Oxycodone 30 mg. my insurance last year I had to only pay $10.00. Well, this year they wrote me a letter to inform me that the Oxycodone was moving from a tier 3 to a tier 4, which would cost me 89.00. They informed me if I had to stay on that medication, then my doctor had to fill out a form and indicating that I needed to stay on the Oxycodone 30mg. So the insurance let it go from the tier 4 back to the tier 3, and the only thing is that even though they put me back to the tier 3, I still have to pay the amount that is new in place. I have to pay 39.00 instead of $89.00, but I don't have a problem getting them filled. For the prescription of Oxycodone ir 30mg, I had to get my prescription filled at a different pharmacy and they did actually fill my prescription for 30 mg and it was ir manufacturer was Activis and that was at Walgreens. The pharmacy I have been going to for years has been filling Oxycodone Hcl 30 mg and under common brands it says Roxicodone.

Morphine is one a half times stronger than Oxycodone, so you'd actually need a lower dose of the Oxycodone. 20mgs of it for each 30mgs of the Morphine.

This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.

Morphine is very much stronger than oxycodone... Take them. .. Same mgs... And you tell me. . I've been on both. ... I prefer morphine..... But get oxycodone 10 mgs. 4×day. . Would love to have my morphine back and just have these for break through. ..
