I have a question. I have noticed that there are numerous different prescription medications that are under the same scientific name when they are drug tested in a 12 panel drug test, hair follicle test to be exact. Im curious to know if the laboratory can/does decipher the different drugs under these scientific name when they do their tests. I would appreciate your help. Thanks

The lab I partner with does not test for benzos but most hair drug tests can differentiate between the different benzo because each benzo creates a different metabolite inside the body and the test is looking for that metabolite. For instance a hair drug test can tell the difference in opiates such as heroin, morphine and codeine and reported as such on the result page. So if a lab did a test for benzos they should be able to say it was Xanax, Valium or any other benzo. Hope this helps.
