Hair Follicle Drug Test And Oxycodone (Page 2) (Top voted first)

I am prescribed oxycodone 10mg taken 4 times daily. I take them as directed. I recently took a 5 panel hair follicle test and it came back negative on everything. Does anyone know a reason that this would not show up on a hair test? I did not have my hair colored or bleached in over two years and I did not take anything to try to alter the results. Thanks!

Passed Psychemedics 5 panel hair test with expanded opiates. The employer had a pre-test form requiring any meds taken with an explanation. Made sure to note Rx from physician. Only had single use so it was not an issue.

How long does percoset 10 stay in the roots of hair. If none is taken for 60 days .then shave hair off completely. Start new growth for three weeks and they take sample from new growth.. Should the sample be clean?

My best guess is that you will be positive on an extended opiate hair drug test. It would be difficult for anyone to say you took more than prescribed. Arm hair is considered body hair so the time frame is about 6 months to 1 year. Length doesn't matter when it comes to body hair.

We use a cutoff level of 200pg/mg for the oxycodone test so it looks like you should pass. I tell most of the lawyers I work with to do an anonymous hair test to get an idea where their clients are, a lot less surprises.

Hair testing guy i have a question i took a ten mg percocet about a month ago i know on a standard 5 panel hair test it wouldnt show up but lets say they asked for extensive testing would just the one 10 mg show up after about a month and a half of taking it

A hair drug test is meant to show consistent use over time. A 1.5 inch sample, cut at the scalp line, will go back 90 days. My best guess is that you should be negative since its been over 90 days.

Hopeful123 (# 240) -- Usually extended opiates are more than a 7 panel so my best guess is that the extended opiates won't be tested for. If they were testing for the extended opiates my best guess (again) is that you would be positive for oxycodone.

A hair drug test is meant to show consistent use over time. That small amount won't show up in a hair drug test.

I wouldn't lose any sleep over it. I only have 18 years in the hair drug testing field. One time use won't show up.

If you can wait until January, and not take any oxycodone in the mean time, you would be better off. Usually an employer will only test a 1.5 inch segment (90 day history) so by January you should be test negative. You can always do your own Anonymous Extended Opiate test to see where you are at.

So percocet wouldn't show up as an opiate? The people that administered the test said it should of shown up and they didn't know why it didn't.

Thank you so much. My ex is making false allegations of drug use about me to detract attention from his continued iv use. However, I am obviously aware of how it looks for me to deny said allegations and then have this turn up in my hair, for that reason I thought about preemptively disclosing the info to court, but obviously that route may have its own drawbacks.
I have been researching things like Mac method, etc but I couldn't find any clear info on its effectiveness for opiates/opoids. This is just extremely important to me as I've just been made aware of his claims and I do not want to leave anything to chance since it concerns custody of my child.

I took 15 5 mg oxycodone tabs in just about a weeks time. That was the duration of my prescription. Would the levels be different if I spread them out, or took them all around the same time?

If your hair is 1.5 inches long the test would go back 90 days. My best guess is that you won't pass a hair 5 drug panel with extended opiates.

It depends on when you have to take a 5 panel hair drug test and whether it is has the extended opiates included. If it is an extended opiates test you might have trouble passing it. The hair 5 drug panel won't test for the narco. It also takes about 7-10 days for the hair to grow above the scalp so it can be tested for.

Im going to have to take a hair follicle test for Dhr in a month or two.. I had a prescription for narcos.. Wondering how many it would take to show positive. Also I have drank a few times .. Wondering if Dhr tests for alcohol.. Did not realize I couldbt drink beer! Ive heard it would be either an 8 or 12 panel ... And also- is it usually 90 days?

First off, I don't have any idea what DHR does or does not test for. A hair drug test is meant to show consistent t use over time. A 1.5 inch section of hair, cut at the scalp line will go back 90 days. Most places only do a 90 day history. No one can tell you how many pills might make you positive. If you have a prescription for it why even worry. Usually a 12 panel hair drug test is a hair 5 panel with extended opiates. The extended opiates being the pain killers such as hydrocodone.
