Groggy Morphine

I am on 40mg of Opana and 15 mg ir morphine for 3 ruptured discs. . When I take the morphine it makes me tired. Is there an IR that will not make me groggy?

Drowsiness is a possible side effect of all narcotics, it's really just a matter of trial an error to find one that works for you, without making you sleepy. Morphine did the same thing to me, when I was on it, I could barely ever stay awake.

The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.

Have you tried Oxycodone? It may work better for you.
