Generic Versus Name Brand Xanax (Top voted first)

I just filled a prescription for 90 greenstone 2 milligram Alprazolam and they seem to be working just fine. As a matter of fact I see no difference between them and my father's name brand Xanax. So try to go to places that carry greenstone. Second best would have to be pure pack, the yellow ones.

I have been on Greenstone alprazolam for several years. Within the last few months I had to change pharmacies. The Greenstone alprazolam that the new pharmacy gets is not working at all. Alprazolam is very bitter. When I used to break a 2 mg. bar in two, it was bitter. Now it has to almost dissolve in my mouth before I take anything. I wonder if the distributor/wholesaler the new pharmacy is getting them from are real. Greenstone is made by Phizer, who also makes the brand Xanax. I called and reported it. They are supposed to be checking with the pharmacy and the wholesaler. I use them for sleep and not working is wrecking my life.

Jillyb77, I am very glad that it is working so well for you, since as you can see from other posts, the generics don't work well for everyone.

nvrsurndr, are the tablets exactly the same as the old ones, including the markings on them? Are you on any other medications?

Are you not sleeping, at all, with them, or are they just not as effective?

The side effect list from Medline Plus warns that this medication may cause drowsiness, dizziness, irritability, joint pain, and weight changes.
