Generic Percocet 10 A333 White Oblong (Page 2)
UpdatedAnyone had stomach / intestinal effects from this particular form? I've been switched from Watson 932 10/325 because of drug store supply.
Hi riley, look up the article. I listed the title and what website had it. You are correct, 2014 is when they released the medicine. They haven't received FDA approval yet so from how I understood what I read, to sum it up, we are the guinea pigs. They are trying to make abuse deterant oxycodonon. So they have removed the addictive additives from the medicine and added whatever so if it's being abused by people for that immediate high, it wont work. They are trying to prove in this form it can still provide pain relief to those who need it. Its ridiculous and I as well am livid. Go read the article. Its on the internet so it is already public info. Its just who finds it to know. That's the tricky part.
Michael, you should read all the comments on this thread. You will see all the problems we've been having and our experiences.
What article? I want to read it. I know these pills are making me sick!
gabionline.net/Generics/News/Actavis-makes-agreement-for-generic-abuse-deterrent-oxycodone
Robin, Yes, I think a lot of people should read this - try googling Actavis makes agreement for generic abuse-deterrent oxycodone posted 3-5-13 check this article out... We cannot give websites on here, but look at what I wrote and Jennifer, then hopefully you will get the article. God Bless and I hope you find relief soon
That article? It's about OxyContin - NOT generic Percocet (what this thread is about). Activas is not producing generic Percocet with the imprint A333 as a drug-abuse deterrent. It's the same thing we've all been taking for years - the only different is one inactive ingredient. The same ingredient that is in thousands of other drugs that everyone has taken at some point in their lives. Your body will adjust. If it makes you that sick, report it. I feel for you. But it's not having that affect on everyone. Just a few.
Ann, the original post by Michael is about watson 10\325.. that's Percocet. Oxycodone is generic for oxycontin...the article mentions both oxycontin and oxycodone. What its daying is actavis is removing the additives that make the medicine addictive....which are what has helped control our pain when it was being made by watson. They they are adding things to the medicine to prevent it from being able to be broken down and abused for that immediate high that abuses do. So basically, it is now an extended release drug whereas the watson 10/325 were an immediate release drug. That's a big difference when comparing one to the other for pain relief. And its not just a few people that are having issues with the activist...its many if not all. U need to remember that mist of us have been using the Watson generic Percocet for a long time to control our pain, when changing to a new medicine, our bodies will go through withdrawals from not having the usual Watson meds, then were trying a new medicine that is made from a different formulation. So now our immediate release medicine is an extended release. It has to be taking a toll on everyone who has been taking watsons long term.since Watson was taken over by actavis, there is no longer any Watson generic Percocet s
I'm sorry to disagree but that article clearly states it's only in regards to the OxyContin formula. At the end it even says you won't be able to break, chew, or dissolve them anymore. Pretty sure I can break these new ones in half very easily. What we are taking is NOT time release.
I just don't want people to be misinformed. Oxycodone is the main ingredient in both Percocet and OxyContin. The difference? Percocet is immediate release and OxyContin is time release. That article ONLY talks about the OxyContin version of oxycodone. I am a medical professional. Once again, I'm so sorry that you had to become sick bc of the new generic.
I too just got this brand after i've been getting the Watson brand for the last 1 1/2 yrs. it has NO effect on my pain and is also giving me stomach problems & diareah. This must be a new mfg co for percocet as I couldn't find it anywhere on the internet as far as images go. With as much is happening politically I am scepticle to ry an "all of a sudden new pill" especially if it is cheaper to make. The way I see it.. there may be a reason we are all getting ill from this new generic brand of perccet! And I don't trust it at all! Look at how many people are complaining only on this sight. Which makes me believe they obviously had the same complaints when the med was in the testing phase! It really sucks having to depend on these stupid meds for pain!
I read the article too, IDK it does talk about OXycotin then speaks of generic oxycodone. I think a lot of people are scared of this A333 med & I for one am one of them after needing to go to the hospital for medication poisoning & yes they listed the Actavis A333 as the Reason. There are a lot of things going around about this med, but again I believe it is because people are Scared & Clearly it does not work and is making people ill. I have no desire to try it again and or maybe get used it, Forget it, after my experience I will not ever take this Brand. For those of you who haven't suffered side effects, I am very happy for you as I would not want to anyone to go thru what I did. There are quite a few people who have suffered from this med, so I know this is not an isolated incident or just me. As far as the article, again IDK, but I truly believe there is something in this pill that isn't right & Actavis is supplying us with Pure Junk.
I'd u disagree..that's fine..to each is own. I've done a lot if searching on the internet since finding the first article. If u notice at the end of the first paragraph it says oxycontin (oxycodone). Then the second paragraph of the article talks about the abuse deterant oxycodone. The article talks about actavis trying to get fda approval for the Purdue branded abuse deterant oxycodone. If u research that more, you will see the abuse deterant oxycodone is time released. Yes, of course u can break it in half and take it, but if u were to break it up n insufflate or IV it like people who abuse it do, it wouldnt give u that immediate high...they are trying to keep people from being able to abuse it by adding polymers to the medicine to make it a time release medicine. I promise im not pulling this info out of my ass...all who have been using watson 10/325 medication are now being given the actavis 10/325 abuse deterrent medicine that is extended release. Do a search on actavis abuse deterrent oxycodone and search through the articles. Some go more in depth than others.
Keep in mind....oxycodone is oxycodone. ...no matter what's its used as a generic for...many have called actavis to complain about it after it was used to replace the generic Percocet brand watson...which was the 10/325 meds
I too have called Actavis, received calls from them and letters, received a call from came up on phone was Watson. First calls and letters were very nice, apologetic, next letters & call were nothing short of being straight down Rude! Letter saying There was No reason for my complaint, their med A333 is fine, passed all diagnostics and there was nothing mentioned about how they were sorry I had a side effect. More or less, they were dismissing my complaint. They always kept calling me wanting the lot # of med I received, I did not have it - I took the pills to my PM dr as Hospital advised me to do, I did tell them where I got them from however so maybe that's how they got the Lot # I had?? Actavis stated they analyzed my Lot # and there is nothing wrong with, if I have further questions to call them!! I realize each person is different and react differently to meds, but I find it funny that so many people are becoming ill on this Brand & Actavis is stating Nothing Is Wrong with it, Therefore There is NO Reason for your Complaint! Oxycodone is Oxycodone no matter how you look at it & this cheap junk Actavis has now I don't think there is any in it or maybe a slight amount? I am not sure whats in it, but It should be taken off market! Even if the inactive ingred's are something all of us taken before prob, if that were True, I would of & a lot us would have gotten ill from other meds containing this inactive ingred!! This is just my opinion & my experience with this Junk & non caring Company. Its all about the monies folks, if it makes you ill, so be it is how Actavis is seeing this Problem. Its not an isolated incident, or just me, A lot of folks have become ill & or suffered some kind of reaction. Actavis needs to Realize there is Problem with this & the public as well needs to know. There are Far too Many of us that have had problems, the common denominator being Actavis Brand 10-325 imprint A333 pill!
The article is about Actavis attempting to get FDA approval to sell Purdue brand oxycontin now that Purdue's patent has expired. The only way to get approval is if the generic is tamper resistant since original formula oxycontin has been banned in the US. oxycontin is time-released oxycodone without acetaminophen. Percocet is immediate release oxycodone with acetaminophen. 10mg oxycodone 325mg acetaminophen 10/325. Actavis is NOT selling percocet as time released. I agree the percocet has its issues & the formula may have been changed recently given the complaints since Actavis merged with Watson BUT this article has nothing to do with changing percocet's formula. Its talking about a tamper resistant version of oxycontin. Two completely different animals. Yes they are oxycodone as the main ingredient but you're misinterpreting the article. You're misinforming a lot of people with repeatedly posting this information. If you're saying oxycodone has been removed from percocet & replaced by polymers I think that's probably off base too.
I am just saying there is a problem with the new Actavis/Watson A333 med, too many problems with this one pill, too many people having bad side effects. Yes the article speaks of oxycotin, a lot of us could of taken wrong way since oxycodone was mentioned, people are afraid since they became ill on the A333 pill version of pain med, this is a relatively new formula given to us, being distributed, newer company or so we all thought but its Watson that bought Actavis, just going by Actavis name, still bottom line is - people have gotten ill with this new formula and we want to know whats so different about it, why are we getting ill. Its does not agree with a lot of people and I am sure there are many more of us that have not posted, or have access to the internet. I did not feel any Pain Relief at all, it did not even come close to the other Brands I have taken, so Yes I do question what is in this A333 so cld pain med. I for one have my doubts about the strength of the oxycodone in this med, maybe I am off base, but this is my opinion, the A333 provided not even the smallest bit of relief for me or others, when I take my regular brand or even if pharmacy has another brand other then the Actavis, when I take my prescribed dose, I can feel relief in about 15 minutes, the oxycodone provides that, this CHeap generic Version did not do that except make me sick as heck after taking just one. People can read the article and assume what they will, It is more about oxycotin, but there is NO denying there is something off base with Actavis/Watson version of this particular pill & why is this new version all the sudden being distributed?? Again just my opinion, but I do believe we all will hear more about this A333 pill. I don't think people are being totally misinformed, people can read them selves & will take article for what it is. There is clearly not a lot of info about this new version of so called pain med either. Again all just my opinion.
anybody
find anything out yet about this poison?
hey all... I first found this article...with that I searched further and found actavis is using the abuse deterant formula on oxycodone...I called the company yesterday and received a call from them today. the person I spoke with told me they have been receiving a lot of complaints referring to this medication. I asked them if they distribute the Watson brand at all anywhere and they said no..i asked why and she told me it was a business decision the company made when they combined. they had to use one or the other and they chose the actavis. I asked her what is going to come of all the complaints. She told me it goes to the FDA.. I find this rather odd...its like the company is ratting themselves out....Either way, my next call will be to the fda. I also asked her if enough complaints were received, would the company revert back to distributing the Watson formula. I told her the company made a huge mistake in choosing to discontinue the distribution of the Watson formula in favor of this actavis formula and I wouldn't be surprised if a legal suit comes of it due to the hundreds of blogs and internet sites with people complaining how this medication is making them ill and is providing absolutely no pain relief. she told me she wouldn't be surprised either. I also asked her if the abuse deterant formula being used on their generic percocets that I keep reading about their company using on hydrocodone. Ironically, she told me she is aware of them using it with Norco (which I haven't seen anything on the internet about this), but as far as this medication or the oxycotin generic, a different department would have to call me back. They called me a bit ago when I was in class so when I have some quiet time today, I will call them and see whats up. I also asked her about the formula make up of the actavis and Watson compared to the brand Percocet active ingredients. as far as the variance percentage. You know when they talk about how close is the generic to the brand name and how generics could have a difference of I think it was 20% less than or more than the brand. I said I was curious since Watson worked so well and this actavis doesn't work at all. I was told to ask the department that was calling me back. so when I know the answers to these things, I will update u all. Just an interesting FYI.... In my researching this abuse deterant formula, I came across a study that was done on it. The study used 2500 people who were entering a drug rehab who's drug of choice was prescription pain meds...even though they used H as well. The study found that when using the abuse deterant medication, these people either found a way to bypass the deterant or they went and used H since it was cheaper and easier to get. with the pain medication being abuse deterant, the use of H was higher.. The study mentioned they didn't foresee the use of H rising and that wasn't the intention. They rather have pain medication being abused than having the rise in H use since H will do more harm to an individual than pain meds as well as the rise in H use leads to a rise in other areas such as crime and death much quicker. It ended saying something like it has to rethink their approach on lowering the use of pain medication abuse. So basically we, the people who legitimately need pain medication to function as close as possible to normal, and don't abuse it, are suffering due to their efforts to stop other people from abusing it, even though their approach is creating a whole other problem that is worse than the one there was previous to the deterant. Seriously, this is complete bs and such a failure from such a large corporation!
if your pharmacist told you that generics only need to be 85% than he/she is an idiot.
Filled my script at Shopko this time. They carry Mallinkrodt generic. I don't think they are as good as the old Watsons but they are a hell of a lot better than the Actavis brand! No stomach rumbles and they seem to work like they are supposed to. On top of that they are less expensive too. I'll never go to Walgreens again.
One more thing. I talked to a friend that is taking 5/500 Hydrocodone Acetaminophen from Watson/Actavis and she is having the same problems as us.
It must be the Acetaminophen or the fillers in this garbage.
