Generic Norco Ip110
UpdatedWhite small oblong pill with ip110; norco. Why it doesn't work as good as watson?
This tablet contains 325mgs of Acetaminophen and 10mgs of Hydrocodone, a generic for Norco.
NDC: 53746-110
This tablet is made by Amneal Pharmaceuticals. As to why it may not work as well as the ones made by Watson, well, it is a generic version of the drug.
I know when you are given a generic or read the information pamphlets about them, you are told that they are exactly the same as their name brand counterparts, however, this is done to try to prevent people from being afraid to take needed medications.
The truth however, is quite different. Under federal law, generics are allowed to differ in the active ingredient from their name brand counterparst by as much as PLUS OR MINUS 20%. The FDA considers this an allowable differential that has no major effect on how the drugs work, but as anyone who has ever switched from a name brand to a generic, or from generic to another will tell you, this can cause problems.
In addition, they also only require that the generic manufacturer show their medication is 'bio-equivelent,' meaning it works in the same manner in the human body, but it does not have to be 100% identical.
On top of these issues, the inactive ingredients that are derived from a list of substances the FDA considers to be inert ingredients, can be completely different from the name brand and they do have an effect on some people.
If the pills from this manufacturer do not help you, then the next time you get a refill, I suggest asking your pharmacy if they still have the Watson ones available or call around to other pharmacies to see who may carry it.
I have taken only two of the ip110 so far but they have not given me the awful side effects of the oval white watson. The white watson gave me migrain like headaches, restless leg syndrome, back pain and an anxious kind of overall discomfort. I am hopeful the ip110 will be a good substitute because Watson has been purchased by Actavis, who are, from what I have read, responsible for the problems we are experiencing since the color change from yellow to white.
I got my "norco" prescription filled. I have been taking these for a while now for chronic pain. I went home and found that first they were white not the usual yellow. Then I noticed a 1P 110 on the tablet. Looked up this marking on the net. I found that it was indeed supposed to be Norco. I took one, it didn't work. I took a secon one it still didn't work. I then researched this generic and found that many other people have had the same problem. I called my pharmacy and they replaced my remaining 1P 110 with the "yellow" Norco. The yellow Norco worked. What a scam. What a terrible thing to do to people with chronic pain! There is no excuse for this. I think the manufacturer should be reported to whom ever oversees these pain medication manufacturers.
I JUST RECENTLY GOT SWITCHED TO THE IP 110 FROM M367 AND THEY SUCK ASS AS FAR AS PAIN RELIEF, THEY DO HOWEVER MAKE ME SLEEPY AS HELL AND HUNGRY TO BUT ITS HARD TO SLEEP WHEN UR HURTING SO BAD, 20GA SHOTGUN BLAST POINT BLANK TO THE INSIDE OF UR THIGH DONT FEEL TO GOOD, IF U CAN STAY WITH THE WATSONS OR THE REAL NORCO M367 FOR RELIEF, OR IF U DONT HAVE A GOOD JOB A BAG OF CRONIC WORKS WELL TO!!!!!
IT IS A TERRIBLE THING TO DO, IT IS NOW 2015 AND I HAD AN ACCIDENT AND AM STUCK WITH TRASH MEDICINE. GO TO THIS COMPANIES WEB SITE, JOKE
This happened to me this week . Not only it didn't work but made me sick. Now I have to endure awful back pain for a whole month. Have had 1 spinal fusion and facing 2 more at least. These pills should be taken off the market. If I didn't need them, I wouldn't take them. Been offered much stronger meds but refused them. Don't want to take anything that I won't be able to function . I don't want a BUZZ, I want a little relief from my constant pain .
Yes! I wondered why my norcos changed from yellow to white! I was already dissatisfied with them when I went into the hospital with Lortabs for just having fibromyalgia and deg disc disease, osteoarthritis, and cluster h/a and migraines! Came out of the hospital paralyzed rt foot and lower leg/ diagnoses : peripheral neuropathy unknown origin and crps/rsd ( complex regional pain syndrome) highly painful pain scale as high as an amputee! Im given Norco? I said I know thats not Lortabs bc its not working! And would just stare at the clock practically holding my breath because of the pain! SOME nurses would give it to me on time, some would take their own sweet time, not that it took my pain away, it took the edge off a little, my son remained with me and I didnt want him to see me! My mother hates all Pain meds and thinks I should take vitamins and eat veggies instead..she was the one who was telling everyone i was taking too many lortabs at the hospital (a bold face lie) but being a smiling waving sweet granny mom, and Me lookin like death..who you think they believed even when my blood test all came back normal for non abuse of my meds! Someone wrote on my release papers NO LORTABS, I said was Hitler here? I have 3 chronic pain conditions and yall want me on no pain meds! Il talk to MY DOCTOR, which she pushed her way into that first visit and tried to speak first!
He said I KNOW ALL ABOUT IT, she was malnourished, dehydrated, and has 2 new chronic pain conditions....looked at me and said so you need your meds filled! Lol! But they quit makin Lortabs, we have to take Norcos, they messing with our norcos, they messing with our Drs, our Drs are afraid of losing their licensees, for giving people like us ..like me with 3 chronic pain conditions, I cant even wear a bra, my ribs hurt, lucky im small, I cant wear shoes, my feet swell out of them, my knees, get stuck and I either cant bend them or unbend them, all my joints hurt and feel like fire, my feet burn, I get 3 day long headaches, my Dr drops my norcos from 120 a month to 60 a month.. I just had a flare up of all 3 things at the same time..went to dr, he said just take your meds, I took my white norco..1hr and a half later it hurt worse than before I took it, Finally convinced my parents to take me to ER , bc noone will help me get my car back on the road or id take myself! Dr in Er said flare up from all 3 and plantar faciilitis, and I might still have some infection in my muscle that I had last time I was in the hospital, the booted me before it was gone..no insurance! We cant tell its on the inside of my foot but my pain was in the same spot? he did no ultrasound, gave me steroids, neurontin, and 15 percocet! Then want me to call my dr back! Okay, he never calls me back though! But really, we with chronic pain disorders....need someone... federally. On our side, bc our cpd arent going anywhere, they have no cures, they only say WE THINK, so we need someone on our side and our Drs side w us to protect us and our Drs from any trouble, They dont want their license taken away ..we dont want to live in pain! So, they need to come up w someone in congress or where ever to protect the Drs who treat us! The good should not have to suffer for the bad in this situation! Its way to important in the lives of many ! We need help from someone somewhere higher up!
Couldnt agree more! Have a shoulder injury requiring surgery and I have arthritis and I was given motrin 800 I have nights that I'd kill for ANYTHING AT ALL!!!!!!
No, all generics are not alike. I had the yellows and got these ip110's. I was perfectly willing to believe they were the same, but after a few days, they are not. They wear off quite a bit faster. If you are taking these just temporarily, you may have a point, but for chronic pain sufferers, believe me we can tell. My pain is my guide when I take my next pill. I couldn't go my usual 6 hours. Some of us have pretty weird body chemistry, especially us red heads- look it up. It can make a difference. I have even woken up during surgeries when the anesthesia is different. There's no faking that.
I've been on norco for several years and the ip110 norco is alot weaker than the m367 that im use to getting I have ankylosing spondylitis and am in pain all the time. I will go to a different pharmacist next month until I find the m367 that actually work.
Thank you!!!. For I kept wondering why when I would get my meds in the white pill it didn't work the same. But when I would get my meds the yellow norco ones they worked. I would ask the pharmacy's and they would not tell me nothing...
I am in so much pain and have taken 1 and 1/2 of 1 P110, no relief, with this useless medicine. I am stuck for a month with severe pain. I wonder if I can get this med. checked too see if it has any pain relief in it.?
Walmart pharmacies carry a yellow generic Norco made at a pharmacy in india, they're not Watson brand, but they were much more stronger then any of the ones I received at Walgreens.
I live n New Boston Texas & had my hydrocodone filled & they gave me ip110 pills. I've been taking hydrocodone for over 20 yrs & these ip110 pills made by Amneal pharmaceuticals r absolutely worthless . There's little pain relief & Its all I can do to stay awake. I've taken them for 4 days now & I hate them with a passion. I will never use ip110 pills again. I paid $48 for 120 pills & thought I was getting a good deal. Bull !!! I'd advise anyone to never eccept Amneal ip110 pills. I ain't taking anymore cause its obvious they r useless.
Not half as good as Watson idk why
Ip110 absolutely screw me up, tired, feel incredibily intoxicated and don't have this issue with any other type. Any suggestions or anyone gave same effect??
I totally prefer the original yellow WATSON pill because it seems to work best and last longer than the generic. My questiin is... Are the new WHITE WATSON 10mg a generic form of the YELLOW WATSON 10mg or are they simply replacing the yellow ones (only difference between the two is rhe color
If you are able, I would be interested to see the outcome of a study such as that. Or, if you are able to get an straight & honest answer from a pharmaceutical company or a pharmacist.

IP 110's are crap, they don't work. I've had no problem with any other generic form. The IP,s should be pulled of the shelves.
Re: yeabuddy (# 5)
Perfect and on point. These IP110's are garbage. I don't care what anybody says about there being no difference. F*** that and I believe the manufacturer withholds the full amount of hydrocodone and government knows but don't give a s***. These should be sold OTC, not blacklist the patients that are prescribed this medication. FOLKS ARE GOING TO ABUSE ANYTHING THEY WANT. WHEN THEY STARTED THIS OPIOD CRACKDOWN ALL THE DEA GOVERNMENT DID WAS THROW JET FUEL TO THE FIRE. Now methamphetamine, heroin, fentynal use is exploding out of control. As usual they f*** up trying to kiss ass of a particular headline incident, rush and make a new law that's a joke. F*** the BS regulations, let the people be free to take whatever they want. They know the consequence of abusing it, if they wanna die or don't care about dying, let em be. Government can't change a person;s mind that doesn't care about consequences of abuse or living and dying. Stop trying to be God, get to work on "No more taxes"! F*****g idiots. Send all of it to countries that hate our guts, real smart!
Re: Patrice (# 4)
I have to take four of these pieces of s*** ip110. Flush these down the sewer. I take 1 Watson and two Anacin so I can tolerate the pain, but when I take four of the ip110 it does not help me at all. Watson eases my pain. The white oval hydrocodone eases it enough that it is tolerable. Now I am stuck with these pieces of s*** that does nothing for me. I need Watson 853 white oval. I have to take too many dam pills as it is, I can not get any relief off these s***** ip110 that they say are for your pain. Not all medicines work for everyone. Our body chemistry is different. What works for one does not mean it will work for all. I am allergic to the Norco 10 and they make me deathly sick. The yellow dye in the norco 10 is what i am allergic to. Leave the frigging pain meds alone when a patient has one that works for them. Feb 15th marks my second month that walgreens has given me these s**** pills that do not even give me any pain relief. Grrrr!
Re: Patrice (# 4)
I feel the same way. The ip110 doesn't help chronic pain at all. I don't think they should be able to do that to people who need medicine to do things others take for granted.
I have the IP 110 and all it has done is made me tired the yellow one take pain away and gives me energy think the pharmacy would switch mine out for the yellow I'm in pain have cancer
In my opinion, the IP 110 1325 doesn't work as well as the yellow pill. I don't know if there a difference but in my opinion, this white pill doesn't work the same. I have chronic back pain and need something that has an effect on my back.
Re: Marie (# 10)
Thank goodness u brought up how redheads need more painkillers and/or are sensitive to anaesthesia from surgery to Dental office procedures, then if you need drugs, simply changing my generic can cause havoc in my body. Now older and grieving my only child passing tragically in a car accident, i notice these changes and now understand im not going totally crazy. It affects people. The 1 sz fits all approach is criminal. God bless all in this difficult journey.
Re: Onica (# 38)
Walmart switched to a version of the IP 110. They did not curb the pain, so I went to Meijer. Meijer still had the yellow version! That lasted a good six months before they created a drive through lane. (I should have known) along with building a drive-through comes cost. My local Meijer officially switched to the India imported crap.
I pressed my luck and went back to Walgreens. I moved from them to Walmart once they stopped dispensing the yellows. As luck would have it, they were at least still dispensing the white Watson’s. It’s funny, I’ll take those over anything else at this point since the yellow Qualitests simply cannot be found.
Much to my dismay, I refill at Walgreens this last month, and BAM. I’m hit with the IP 110s.
Literally, every major pharmacy has sold out and is making us take 80% of the medication we’re prescribed, and it’s simply okay because of the POS government deciding everyone should be punished when they want to fail at another war on drugs.
Chronic pain survivors are not the problem.
If anyone else knows of other pharmacies, let me know. But at this point we’re all pretty much SOL.
I believe the IP 110 pill is not as effective. Here is the link to report to the FDA. It's an easy online reporting form!
fda.gov/scripts/medwatch
If no one reports, we will never be able to change.
Re: DJ Money (# 36)
IP110 IS made by interpharm pharmaceuticals. The pharmacies probably replaced your original script with those because they are cheaper so the pharmacy can increase their profit margin and some people are saying that IP110 is only about 8mg. My advice is maybe try another pharmacy. Good luck.
