I was switched from lexapro to escitalopram when my insurance stopped paying for the brand name...within the month I was suicidal, halucinating and very very depressed, something has to be done about the terrible effects escitalopram causes, my MD tried many other types of antidepressents but only lexapro worked on me, the insurance and the pharmacist do not give a crap just pay up and get out of their face. Yet, viagra is fully covered, what kind of idiocy is that????

Hello, Cindy! How are you doing? I am very sorry about what happened to you.

However, the coverage is decided by your insurance company, not the pharmacist, your doctor or anyone else. Nor is it the same for all insurance companies.

What type of doctor have you been seeing? You may do better with a psychiatrist that knows which specific medications would best help someone with your types of issues.
