Ganaton Od Substitute For Ganaton In Us

My wife who came to US from abroad is using Ganaton which is not available in the US. Please indicate a substitute. Thanks.

Hi Adam,

Ganaton Od reportedly contains the active ingredient Itopride Hydrochloride (150mgs); which is used for treating symptoms of chronic gastritis. If your wife mentions this to her doctor, he/she will surely be able to suggest and/or prescribe an alternative that should be suitable for her.

There are several types of medications that treat similar symptoms, such as an antacid or proton pump inhibitors. But based on my research, treatment of gastritis depends on the specific cause. And this is something her doctor needs to determine in order to prescribe the appropriate treatment option.
