I have been taking 300mgs of gabapentin 100mgs three times a day I suffer with a fast irregular heartbeat and since taking this medication it has been much worse and keeping me awake at night do you think I should continue as I am trying to stop my nightime diazepam 5mgs and treat the nerve pain I have from rotator cuff injury and back spasms from a chronic back condition

Hello, Rose! How are you?

You should have this checked out by your doctor. Gabapentin has been known to cause high blood pressure and tachycardia in some people that take it, as reported by the FDA. If it continues out of control, it could become dangerous.

This just might not be the right medication for you to take and you may need to try something else.

Has there been any change?
