Since it only occurs in a prone position, that leads me to suspect that a nerve might be getting pinched, when you position yourself like that. Rather than using a medication, it could be treatable with medical intervention, such as physical therapy to reposition it, so it no longer occurs.
Has your doctor prescribed the Gabapentin for it?
It may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, mood swings and weight changes.
