No, this medication is actually an anticonvulsant that has also been shown to help with certain types of nerve pain and some mood disorders.
The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headaches and weight gain.
It can be taken by those who do not have HIV, if their doctor prescribes it.
