Gabapentin 300 Mg Weight Gain

Since I started taking gabapentin 300mg 3 times a day. for neuropathic pain in the spine last December I have put on One stone in weight, I have watched my diet carefully but the weight still went on. It helps ease the pain but I can not afford to keep putting on weight..Any suggestions

Unfortunately, that is a known side effect of Gabapentin, as reported by the FDA. It can also cause others, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth and mood swings.

You may want to ask your doctor about possibly trying Pregabalin, it is a similar medication, but may not cause you the problem with weight gain.
