Was any testing done to see what is causing the bleeding and where it's coming from? Blood in your sputum could be do to an issue with your mouth, such as your teeth, or your sinuses, it may not necessarily be due to your stomach.

This medication contains the active ingredient Deflazacort, which is a steroid class medication that is most commonly used to treat allergic reactions, inflammation, and immunity issues. The NIH Lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, acne, mood changes, and irritability.

As to how long you should take, you should follow your doctor's instructions. Are you on any other medications?

What does your normal diet consist of? Is it possible you have bleeding gums, or are biting your tongue?
