Fiorinal With Codeine Capsules

For many years, Fiorinal with Codeine "Brand" capsules knocked out your headache with no side affects and allowed you to be productive. Since the last year or so since Watson became "Activis", this drug is not the same. They don't work as well, do not knock out the headache. I've heard it might be the "fillers", or maybe they are not making them strong enough. I imagine the generic form are not as good also. It is a shame that we sufferers have to deal with this. If you call Watson Activis, they tell you "nothing has changed". ?????

It has been a week since I am taking the Fiorinal with Codeine "generic" made by Watson Manufacturer. Out of all the generics I've tried, this one is the best. They relieve my headache with no side affects as was my complaint with the others I have used.

If you have been taking this for many years as I have, the problem may not be that the medication has changed. Our bodies develop a tolerance and require a higher level and require more to relieve pain, when I first started getting headaches, one capsule did the trick. Years later I had to increase to two pills to get rid of headaches.

I feel for all of you. I have so many sensitivities to the fillers I won't touch hydrocodone or fiorinal or any product put out by activis because of the fillers. I sorry for people that really need these mess, they suffer at the hands of OTHERS. ITS TIME TO start giving the people that are in pain their Medications. Back. Wake up, start to know who is abusing what, SO OTHERS CAN STOP SUFFERING NOW.....

I have noticed that in the past year or so the Fiorinal # 3 blue and yellow capsules were a lot smaller that they used to be. I still get relief from my migraine headaches with them. They have kept me out of the ER for the past 32 years except for January of 2010 when I failed to take my medicine and ended up spending about 8 hours in the ER and doctors' offices. I am concerned that Actavis has now combined with yet another drug company and may not offer Fiorinal # 3 any more. I have refused to go on the generic of Fiorinal #3 due to worries about generic codeine not being as effective or maybe have bad side effects. CVS, Walgreens, and several other drug stores no longer could get the brand name drug Fiorinal # 3, but K-Mart did. Now the local K-Mart is closing. So I will be back to trying to find a drug store that can or will get Fiorinal #3

I agree that tolerance or rebound headaches can occur. I have my migraines almost daily. I don't take Fiorinal with Codeine, but take Fiorinal generic. It's has not worked well for the past two months or so. This is a change and although it could be tolerance/rebound, I think it's the fillers and also that it's time released which makes me angry and feeling cheated.
