Fioricet For Migraines

i just went to the er for the worst headache i've ever had. I normally only get headaches when i'm sick and have a fever. all of a sudden, 2 days ago, i started getting such a bad headache that everybody seemed to yelling instead of talking, the lights in the office were so bright that tears started running down my face and my vision was a little off. they gave me fioricet at the er. is this suppose to prevent a headache? do u take it when u feel a headache might be coming on? I'm also a recovering addict and alcoholic, 22 yrs. can this be addictive

This medication so most commonly taken to relieve a migraine, so it would be when you feel one coming on.

The FDA lists it as containing Acetaminophen, Butalbital and Caffeine, so yes, the Butalbital does have a risk of being habit forming.

Its typical side effects may possibly include nausea, dizziness, nervousness and insomnia.
