Find A Doctor That Prescribes Methadone In Massachusetts

i have been in the same pain management office for about 10 years. i had experimental back surgury in 2005. i had a titanium disc replacement in my lumber spine at l5-s1. since then the pain has gotten a lot worse. my pain management doctor tried me on a few different pain meds, but i decided percocet 5 3 times a day was sufficient. over time, my body built up a tolerance and i continued to get procedures there to help with the pain, but i kept telling my doctor i was still in excruciating pain. unfortunately, i couldn't handle the pain anymore and my boyfriend at the time started doing dope and convinced meta try it too. thank god it was only for a few months,that was over a year ago. i went back into my pain management center to get help and they put me on suboxone. i hate myself for doing what i did and i still hate being on suboxone because it doesn't help with the severepain at all. i was hoping my pain management doctor would be willing to prescribe me methodone. i have never tried it before or any street drug in my whole life, except for that one huge mistake last year. my pain management doctor knows me for years and all about my chronic back pain and medical records. i refuse to go to a methodone clinic. its disgusting, i made a horrible mistake because of the severe pain i was and continue to be in. but i o not consider myself a junkie, addict or drug abuser. that doesn't define who i am as a person. but got into treatment immediately and continue to go to support groups, although i am not sure why. i am nothing like those people. i do not wish to make myself feel high or messed up. i just want to be able to function a normal everyday life without crying everyday because of the severe pain. i am stuck with this titanium disc for the rest of my life. i have dine all the research. it was never approved by the fda and the only doctors insured ti work with them are in Australia or cedar Sinai hospital in California. i am a single mom on disability, i can not afford that. please help me

Hello, Michelle6612! How are you doing? I'm very sorry about what you've been through.

As to the Methadone, if you have had some type of drug problem previously, then regular doctors cannot prescribe it for you. They can only prescribe it for pain and with the addiction/drug problem in your records, they'd lose their license to practice medicine if they did.

Thus, a clinic is really your only option.

And I am sorry that you feel that way about people in the groups and the clinics, because they really are just people who have messed up, they are no different than you or I.

You have no idea what anyone at a methadone clinic has been to. I've never done H... maybe I should call you disgusting. You want the same medication that these "disgusting" people go to a clinic and take? How ironic is that! Ha! I hope you never found a doctor. I think people that resort to the internet to look for a doctor are disgusting. How does that sound?

If it was experimental then the place who placed it in you BY LAW must provide all medical expenses. Where did you have the surgery? If it's put in, it can be taken out. There are different things available now, from the time you posted this. I hope you get this and post an update.
