Find A Doctor In Virginia That Prescribes Subutex

I am detoxing off 130 mg tht I have been on for 6 years. I need a doctor in VA or NC, I live near Norfolk. Everyone wants to prescribe suboxone but my doctor warned me that if I take suboxone and have ANY methadone in my system that it will throw me into SEVERE withdrawal. Also, we are going to be trying for a baby soon so I cannot take Suboxone while breastfeeding. If you know of a doctor in or around Norfolk VA that can prescribe Subutex, not Suboxone please notify immediately.

Really, the same doctors that prescribe Suboxone can also prescribe Subutex.

However, they are most likely going to want you to start with Suboxone, then switch to Subutex, when you are pregnant. They will just have you wait, until you are in full withdrawal to start the medication, so it doesn't throw you into dangerous withdrawals.

I have to be honest here and tell you that by being picky about which medication is prescribed, you're likely going to give doctors a very bad impression. Rather than seeing it as your needing help and being concerned about withdrawals, they will usually view it as being drug seeking behavior.

Is there a chance that your current doctor may be able to refer you to someone?

That may make it easier to get the help you need.

I have an almost 4 month old that I breastfeed. I'm in Tennessee were they only write subutex for pregnancy and then a limited time after. I love breastfeeding for my daughters benefit and am scared of being switched to suboxone. I don't want her introduced to naloxone or any other drugs. Its bad enough I exposed her to subutex. A girl I know told me I might be able to go in Virginia or surrounndung state's.If anyone has any information for a doctor that would work with me on subutex for while I'm breastfeeding and could share that info. I would greatly appreciate it.

Need to find another doc asap. Was seeing one who took my medicaid but she left without warning, so now I'm lost, feel horrible, and NEED help. Plz someone? Must be within or around richmond or williamsburg and accept medicaid w a hmo.

If you go onto naabt.org, they're an organization that will help you to find a dr who specializes in the suboxone/subutex treatment programs in different areas. I have found a lot of viable info online. Just have to do your research. Hope this helps!

can you possibly help me? my doctor is a total lazy slob and since there is now extra paperwork involved she refuses to give me my subutex after 8 years on it. I cannot take suboxone it makes me very very sick.
