Since it is a different medication, there shouldn't be a problem. Percocet is slightly stronger than Vicodin, so it is understandable that it may help you more.
The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation.
You may also want to turn the rest of the Vicodin in to your pharmacy, so they can dispose of it for you, that way they also know you aren't taking both, at the same time.
