Fentanyl Oxycodone
UpdatedMy ex-husband has had 5 lower back surgeries and has permanent nerve damage. He also has rods and pins in his back that one screw pushed on his spinal cord and had to be removed-lots of scar tissue. He's having a neurologist for many years. My ex has been on fentanyl 100 patch putting a new patch every 48 hours and oxycotin 5 was 6 times a day now he has been cut to 4 a day. His doctor won't give him any higher dosage and in extreme debilitating pain. He was in pain management years ago, but the doctor changed his percocet he took then and put him on morphine. He took to many for the week he was on it. It wasn't working and let pain management doctor know it and was thrown out of pain management. He of course is addicted. His meds of course aren't working very well any more. We live in no rual northwestern Ohio. He lives about 70 miles from Toledo and Columbus. what can he do? There are only a few neurologist or pain management in the area. What can he do? He will be 64 in June.

Hello, Alice! How is he doing?
He's really going to have to get in with a new pain management specialist to get the help he needs. Most other doctors won't prescribe such medications, at all, let along raise the dosages he's currently on.
Does he have a PCP that he sees regular that may be able to refer him to someone?
The FDA classifies these medications as being narcotic analgesics, so they have the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.
Can anyone recommend a good doctor in that area?
I’ve been on 10mg oxycodeine and .25mg liquid morphine and .50mg 72 hr fantenoyl patch since I was diagnosed with aids in sept 2016. My cd4 count was 8 and now today is January 30th 2018 so I’ve been in these drugs for year and half. I also do the medical marijuana in nys. I take all the pains for my back and a lot of stomach problems that they can’t figure out over a year later and sucks ass. My question is I stopped taking he liquid morphine about two weeks ago and then I just stopped taking the .50mg patch about three days ago. I still take the oxycodeine 10mg every 4-6 hrs. Can I have withdrawals from the patch even though I’m still taking the oxycodeine 10mg? I’ve been having a lot of light headed ness and a lot of stomach o
Pain but idc if it’s from the stomach pains that I’ve been having or if it’s wothdrawls from not taking the patch
