You do realize the people overdosing on fentanyl is from "carfentinill" which is used in foreign countries to knock down large animals like elephants. The black market drug dealers are adding this to xanax and opiates and whatever else by now. Fentanyl when prescribed and filled at a pharmacy, can be very beneficial, when used as prescribed to chronic pain patients. It's used for around the clock care to eliminate the roller coaster that some pills can cause. Patients may get this after trying all other meds and treatments.
Trieditallbefore,
AGREED!!!! I don't think we can say this enough.Fentanyl when used for terminal patients it can indeed make their final days more tolerable but short of those conditions far better chronic pain protocols exsist.A very disturbing trend of recreational use has been filling morgues from coast to coast so when you hear the words fentanyl RUN AND RUN FAST. This is an opioid you NEVER want to experience. Stay safe.....
How long 2 take for a 75 mg fentanyl patch to clear out of your urine?
No one answered my question about how long does it take to get fentanyl out of your urine. I am very aware of this drug I have done 2 stints in pain management on it. Both times I had to go off cold turkey. Know one cares. They get you hooked and when you leave for what ever reason know one will help you. You are totally screwed, live or die.The only people who get help are street junkies. It seems that the country will bend over backwards for them. The people who really needed it NO HELP!!! I was in last time for 3 and half years 100 mg every 48 hours soma every 6 hours 2 mg of xanax ,sleeping pills, depression med's ect...I begged my doctor, no more fentanyl every visit he only added even more OPANA 30mg 3 times a day. Think GOD l was smart enough not to take all this crap. I was addicted to some point but I had such a stock pile, I could ween myself off. Well that's what I had to do. The first time I had to go off by myself. Well 6 months later this docter was charged and then convicted of MURDERING 5 of his patients. I would have been 6 if I would have taken everything he prescribed to me. I would be very careful about anything you take not just for pain. I have had side effects from med's I thought were safe. The side effects could have been permanent and devastating. There are some that can kill you. Beware people drugs of any kind are serious and not to be played with. My question was to help someone who is currently going throw this nightmare. I only know that I can pray for them, because it is HELL on earth. I wish you all the best of luck. Get well soon.
I was on Fentynyl 100 mcg patches for 2 years. After you take the patch off, first signs of withdrawal will start within 12 hours. If you are planning on getting on Suboxone, DO NOT START UNTIL 5-7 DAYS AFTER REMOVING THE PATCH. I am # 1 candidate to give you that advice. You will go into 100% withdrawal and it is like being in HELL. My body was coming completely off of the bed. It looked like an exorcism. It lasted 36 hours. Went back to my doctor three days later and I was taken off suboxone and put on oxycodone for 8 days then put back on suboxone. I was given 4 strips a day and within 5 days was taking 1 a day. Fentanyl is an evil drug and dangerous. My nephew died on suboxone. I could feel it sucking the life out of me. I got off and on to suboxone by choice. 100 mcg every 48 hours wasn't working anymore, I was losing weight, never wanted to get out of house. It was slowly killing me. It took me 7 days and 500 doctors to find the one in Clinton that took medicare/medicaid. He's a wonderful doctor. A Christian. He was patient, understanding. And did everything he could to help. Even talking to me from home when I was going through precipitated withdrawal. I'm in a lot of pain but I keep busy. I don't even look the same anymore. I look healthy and happy. I go places, do things with my grandchildren. My life is 100% better just as the doctor promised. He's fixing things that were wrong like COPD, and other things that other doctors weren't interested in. When I was trying to find a doctor, I had 500 names in front of me throughout Louisiana. No one would take medicare/medicaid. I had one left on the list and decided to quit looking. Something told me to call that last number. Thank God I did. He is now my doctor. You can imagine how desperate I was to sit and call 500 doctors. But I wasn't going to let the Fentanyl take my life and my pain management doctor wouldn't change it. I highly recommend ANYONE WHO IS ON FENTANYL TO GET OFF NOW. Don't go to Methadone either. It's worse than the Fentanyl itself. Please listen to me. {edited for privacy}. I will help as many as I can. Call me Popillion. It means Butterfly. And after I got off Fentanyl, I am as free as a butterfly! Thanks Doc!
Re: Meafoodie (# 7)
It sounds like a slow overdose. I got off because my doctor refused to take me off and I could feel them sucking the life out of me. They weren't working anymore and my next step would have been multiple patches which would have eventually killed me. That's one reason they give them. They are stronger than we could ever imagine and it's not only killing our pain but overdosing us a little at a time. If something happens, it will be called an overdose. Not because you took too much but because our bodies can't handle the medication. Also, where do we go from there if we get in an accident and need to kill pain immediately? Nothing else will work because there's nothing stronger. No matter the strength, after a length of time, our bodies require more and because Fentanyl is so strong, more overdoses are making it look like we misused it. Get off now, Please. {edited for privacy}.
I WAS ON 150MG. FOR 12YRS. .IT'S THE WORST TO COME OFF OF. FINALLY AFTER 12YRS. I AM PATCH FREE. .IT TOOK 1/12YRS TO COMPLETELY WEAN OFF. TALK TO YOUR DOCTOR. .
Do NOT TAKE SUBOXEN UNTIL 6 DAYS OFF OF PATCH, You will throw yourself into withdrawal like you've never seen. Ask doctor to sin oxcycodone for Fentynyl for about 8 days. After you've been off patch about 6 days. In a nutshell -6 days of nothing, 8 days oxcycodone 10 mg every 4 hours. Then you should be good. Get off of it. It's becoming popular. It killed a family member and it is the Devil! Get off while dosage is low. Please, im speaking from experience. Especially if you chew them. I had to cut and strip my hair, scrub with a scouring pad to open my pours. Bathed in Vinegar. And that was after withdrawal and I could smell it coming out of me. It's horrible.
Re: ROSEANN (# 2)
Did you have severe sweating and hot flashes while on the patches? Did it get worse when you tried to reduce medication dosage? Would love to chat with you about it. I am on 75mcg and I am so miserable that I cannot go out anywhere. I cannot stand cold or hot. I wake up sometimes as often as every 15 minutes pouring sweat, feeling like I am on fire and freezing at the same time. When I say pouring sweat, I mean from every pore in my body. even my legs and arms, face, chest, back, everywhere. Heart pounding in my ears when I am having the flash and it last up to 5 minutes. It has become more debilitating than the pain itself. Or I guess it is just a different kind of pain. My skin burns while I am sweating and I flush bright red. This has happened on the patch in the past, but thought it might be brand issues. I am still checking that theory. It has not been happening the entire time I have been on the patch so I know it is not the only cause. I am sure it is causing some, but after a flash I get a drug dump, which causes another. Before these patches I could barely walk my pain was so severe. I had gotten up to walking ten miles 3 times a week and then these flashes and other issues started and I cannot even work in my garden. I would love to know how long it took you to get off the fentanyl or if you quit cold turkey. Also how are you feeling now?
Re: Notallbad (# 1)
Not just recreational use. I used as prescribed and felt it killing me.
Re: Kel (# 4)
It's dangerous. Even when used correctly. I never abused it but could feel it killing me.
Re: Dana (# 5)
72+ hours on a Fentanyl drug panel. Don't let them use regular drug panels because Fentanyl, being an opioid, does not always come up on an opiate panel. It has its own.
Re: Notallbad (# 1)
I'm taking methadone, oxynorm, oxycontin, valium, pregabalin and fentanyl patches. Does anyone know if ill be okay?
Re: Kevin (# 13)
Holy crap!! I don’t mean to be dramatic but you are going to accidentally kill yourself taking all those narcotics! You will not be ok taking all of that. The opiates alone that you are taking would be enough to overdose on and adding a benzo with that amount of opiates only increases your risk of overdose. More than 50% of accidental overdoses come from opiate/benzo mixtures. Please get help ASAP and at the very least make sure you have access to narcan.
Re: Me (# 6)
First of all, I do not plan to take suboxone at all. Second of all, I never abuse my fentanyl patches. I do have to change them every 48 hours instead of 72 hours, but the doctors all know that and prescribe it that way. I take my morphine as prescribed and I have already reduced my fentanyl by half and my morphine by 75%. My question was about the sweating. Another thing, people are not just overdosing on some foreign drug, they are overdosing on patches by abusing them. It is ridiculous to me. I transitioned to this drug because it eased my pain without making me feel high out of my mind like oxycodone and somas did, and it didn't destroy my stomach like the pills have. When fentanyl is used by someone who wants pain relief on the lowest dose possible, and that is demanded from the doctor, it can be very safe. The key is knowing what is being prescribed and listening to your body. If the patch is making you super ill or you cannot keep your eyes open then the dosage is too high. Use common sense and be very careful with this medication.
