Updatedwhat companies still make fentanyl gel patch

Unfortunately, I can't find a list of all current manufacturers, since it can change at any given time, when one company takes over another, or decides to stop manufacturing it.
Learn more Fentanyl details here.
Have you tried checking with your pharmacist? They should have a list of what's available and let you know which manufacturer's product they can order.
I tried calling pharmacies. .. been on them since 06 and they treat u like a junkiee.
Malincroft was bought by PAR.
They have the gels. Some pharmacists will order for u. If I dont used gels.. the pain starts the early second day...by night..im in wds. Name brand duragesic still uses gel... and they work the best!!!! Theyre lots of money... but for 15 100mcg pars... its 800. If u cant afford them. Johnson and johnson has a web site that will help u with the price... depending wat taxes were last year (they ask for a copy) theyll. Pay for the whole script. Oxys too!!!
Duragesic DOES NOT have gel inside anymore.
Only Watson generic does
The Parr brand Fentanyl patches still has the gel inside the patch. That is the only brand I have recently come across that has the gel inside. I must say, the 100mcg patches are huge though. I love Sandoz brand. No gel inside but has more Fentanyl that all the other brands and it sticks fine with a tegaderm over it.
Are Gedeon Richter DOLFORIN not still gel reservoir patches? They certainly WERE but I haven't been able to buy any since about 5 or 6 years ago and I am getting different answers from different people - one says he found 25mcg/hr gel Dolforin, but when buying 100mcg/hr was dispensed a plastic matrix, like Actavis MATRIFEN & DURAGESIC D-TRANS... I used to get the excellent (possibly their only decent drug!) Mylan USA patches which were gels, however there are at least three threads on this site saying they have changed to all-plastic and the gels have been withdrawn. Fentanyl HCl powder is way too expensive and the best of the analogs being sold, acetyl-F, may have a faster onset but duration of action (depending on route of administration) is only a half of the HCl and citrate salts. Making up an aqueous nasal spray with one of the pure salts can be a very expensive business; China and Canada are the biggest manufacturing countries but the superb Canadian product costs an average of $1 per mg - way too much and on the cusp of affordability for a decent, effective analgesic by aqueous volumetric dosing using metered spray bottles - home made, best to use the BECONASE 200 spray bottle holding 40mL liquid, dosed to something a bit more effective than the only Rx strength ATM, 50mcg/spray, when my effective rescue dose (using 80mg OxyContin, duration of action average 6.5 or 7 hrs, nowhere close to the 12 hrs claimed on the box)!
Just called TEVA who bought Actavis and Watson. They DO still have a fentanyl gel patch as of 7/17. They gave me the NDC number which you must have to order them. Since it may change and is different for different levels of medication, I'm not providing it.
So, if you need gel patches for pain, call TEVA, leave a message that you want to know whether they carry gel fentanyl patches in the amount you need, someone will call back quite quickly, and s/he will read off the ingredients of their four layer patch and let you decide if it's gel. Since one of the layers is gel mixed with medication it's clearly a gel patch. They will then give you the NDC number so you can get your pharmacist to special order them or your physician to request them on the prescription. I wouldn't suggest just asking for the TEVA patches since they may also manufacturer matrix patches.
Disclaimer: I haven't tried these, so don't know whether they work. I don't know how any insurance company might react to a request for TEVA gel patches.
Good luck. Hope you feel better!
