Fentanyl Free

Just checking in after not logging on for awhile. Today is my 34th day Fentanyl patch free! I'm so thankful! I'm also back to my original pain level. Unfortunately I thought I could also go right into my hydrocodone cessation. I did. But I need it. Trying to cope for ten more days until my next appt !

Hello, Yvonne! I am so sorry that you are in pain, again. Has it eased up, any?

When you go cold turkey off of such medications, there is a risk of rebound pain occurring, which can sometimes be worse than the pain you started taking it to treat, so you may be dealing with a double whammy, the rebound effect and your old pain returning.

This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.
