Evidently you can test positive for this and other things that you have never done. I did and had never even seen fentanyl till last week when a friend of mine asked me to put this patch on her back and while I was doing it for her I just asked what it was. Well this was on Saturday and yesterday on Wednesday I had my own drug test for pain management. So now I'm worried that I could test positive for putting it on someone else? It is so unfair to be accused of something you haven't done and even worse for these doctors to be allowed to dismiss patient's on a false positive test. But there's nothing that I know of that the patient can do except suffer consequence. To think it would be on record and you did nothing wrong. Therefore would be extremely hard to even find another doctor due to these false positives. I've had two false positives in fifteen months and no way am I admitting to something I'm not guilty of. I'm so scared now that I could lose my doctor and I was going to be upfront and tell her what happened but I was seen by another practitioner because they were so busy and I was afraid to tell her cause I figured if I did then they might not have let me get my meds. They claim to send our drug test off and so I wont know results till next month. I also hate the fact that we no longer pee in the actual cup; instead they have a plastic container that goes over the toilet to pee in, then they put it in the cup. Seems to me this could cause contamination yet they claim to throw them away but I never see them in the trash can. I have to say to that most patients like myself that truly need the medicine would never do anything to jeopardize losing their doctor cause we all know how hard it is to find one and get them to write what you already know works for you. I sincerely wish anyone going through this the best of luck cause anytime you take a drug test then your at risk for a false positive. So wrong!!! :(
