Fentanyl 25 Patch

The 25 mcg patch that I am on isn't taking my pain away. would it be safe to double up intil I go see my doctor next week?

I am on the fentanyl 25mcg patch and I am still in pain. can I safely double up until I see my doctor?

Take it from me if you double up on the fentyln patch without letting them take you up they will say you did it by yourself and let you go.I went to my pain ct. today and where I have been on the run from late last month I was in so much pain I had to take a few extra perocet which was a generic with ipo with a slash in the middle of it and it was not controlling my pain.I was doing back to back drs. appts plus doing mammagram where I have cancer in my lung breast and have lung cancer plus two failed back surgeries and because I had to take a couple extra so I could run to the drs and do what they needed with the diagnostics the rest of the drs needed they told me they could no longer see me and to beat it all I have been on the patches for at least 3 years and I know I am going to go through hell wothout the patch and the perocet.When I did my UA I had just changed my patch before I went to the ptc and had it on my arm ans I know I use them religious and she came back in the room and said I had no fentyln ni petocet in my system and I showed her my patch and changed them as directed I was honest that I had not had any perocet in my system since wensday then she said it showed up that I had methodone in my system which I have never took in my life she asked if I would take another UA and I told her yes cause I knew that I hadn't never taken that drug.She said that one showed up in my system I had given two UA's at the end of march for my pcp cause she found blood and sludge in my urine and these were done a week apart and she never said she found methodone in my system she was worried about my kidneys and I had blood work done and whatever methadone is she never found any in my system and that was around the 28th of march then on the fourth of april this what ever you call the person who helps out a doctor I can not understand taking two UA's for my pcp and she knows what I take from he ptc cause she was the one who referred me to this center and then on the fourth of april the assistant to the doc at the ptc says I have methodone in my system even goung to a kidney doc and giving blood and urine it showed that I only had what the ptc had written me cause yoy have to take your meds everytime you see a new doc then she comes back in the room and says she has seen me before when I never seen her in all my life and she said that I had something called narco in my body then she said oh no and said t and looked athis belonged to someone else she brought some type of precription and laid it on the table then looked at it and said oh no again and said it belonged to someone and I adked her was she getting me mixed up wirh someone else but of course she would not say yes oh yes I did I feel like she got me mistaken to someine else or it was their way of not taking my wellcare insurance I do not know what to do except go to the e.r. and have them do a UA on me or go and buy a urine diagnostic kit and take it to her the next time I see her but she already said she had to let me go because I did take an extra pericet just to get through all these drs. appts cause yoy have to sit so long when you see drs that you were made appts. by my pcp .Please I beg any doctor if there is anyone tell me what to do but my suggest about your problem don't do anyrhing on your own till you talk to your dr.And if anyone dr or patient please tell me what to do Thank You in advance I feel like they don't want to treat me anymore because of my insurance Please Please Help Me cause between lung cancer pain and breast cancer pain and back surgeries pain.

I'm very sorry to hear about your experience at that treatment center. However if they already let you go, then there's probably not too much you can do to convince them at this point, other than perhaps a new and recent UA, if that really was the reason for your dismissal.

From what I've been hearing about other similar cases, many of these types of workers are often closed-minded to the possibility that their fancy tests could be wrong, and may not even think twice before writing you off as a liar or just someone trying to beat their system. Whatever their deal is, I think if you were to present them with a new UA, that should be more than enough to persuade the person who made the call to discontinue you as a patient in the first place.

First of all, I'm sorry for anyone that legitimately gets "let go" from their pain management doctor. Secondly, it is not a UA that they check, it is a urine toxicology diagnostic and if you come up hot for a drug in your system after a repeat evaluation, they will no longer treat you per the contract. They will not except any outside results as proof unless it is a very rare instance. They will usually tell you to follow up with your primary care doctor or an addiction pain specialist.
