Eye Pain And Macrobid

I started taking Macrobid for a UTI, I only took one pill yesterday and one today. This afternoon my right eye hurts and waters some. I have had dry eye issues in the eye previously. I am also female and 62 years old. Will this go away when I quit the Macrobid?

It might not, actually, according to the FDA, this medication has been known to cause optic neuritis, which can sometimes result in permanent damage to the optic nerve.

It would be best to have this checked, because you may need to switch to a different medication.
