External Use Of Augmentin

a person in my vicinity once was prescribed augmentin, which helped very good and fast. Now this person believes Augmentin can do everything. For example in case of a moskito bite she applies augmentin externally, crashing a tablet to powder.
I consider this absolute nonsense, but cannot convince.
Pleas advice if this use is any good -or even might be dangerous.

This is an antibiotic, so it is only effective at treating bacterial infections. Thus, you are correct, it will not do anything to help with something such as a mosquito bite.

The NIH lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash, and diarrhea.

Additionally, the overuse of it could result in a person developing antibiotic resistant bacteria, which could lead to further complications in the future.
