Expired Roxicet

I have 2 roxicet 5-325 tablet that expired 9/28/2012. Out of the ten that were prescribed the two left look in good condition don't smell funny or anything. Going out of my mind with a migraine and wondering if they are safe to take since I've got nothing else and can't drive.

This medication doesn't get dangerous, once expired, but it does begin to lose effectiveness, so it may no longer work as well as it did, when it was new. Due to the Acetaminophen in them, taking extra isn't safe, so it would really be best to dispose of them and see your doctor for a new prescription.

This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.
