Can I take meloxicam if it expired on 11/21/2015?

This medication does not become dangerous, once expired, but it does start to lose effectiveness, so it would be best to obtain a new prescription.

The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased risk of bleeding and stomach irritation.

My husband is on meloxicam and on the foil package inside it says that it expires on 10/16. Is it still good to take?
