It does not become dangerous, but it may begin to lose potency, so it will not be as effective as when it was new. Thus, it would be best to dispose of it and obtain a new supply.

The FDA lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, mood changes, dry mouth, and weight changes.
