If it's an a pharmacy dispensed bottle, then it is good for one year from the date you received it. If it's still in the original factory sealed bottle, it's good for about 4 years.

After that time period, it begins to lose effectiveness and you should dispose of it.

The FDA lists the typical side effects of this medication as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination and hypotension.
