Estratest Ds Replacement Med

I' ve been a mess since the change from estratrest ds. I also have low thyroid. I have recently heard that the estrogen directly affects or cancels out to some extent the thyroid replacement hormones. I've gained a lot of weight and been depressed and have been having body & joint pain since they decided to have the pharmacist custom make my hrt meds. now they have changed them again with 1.25 estrogenm 1 mg progesterone (to counteract breast cancer risk), 2 mg testerone & 10 ng DHE (to increase the benefits of testerone without negative side effects) the pharm. said. I was wondering if anyone has this meds and can tell me if it is a good substitute for estratest DS, as I am afraide to take these because it is a different formula. They say they can't get the exact ingredients as estratest because it was derived from horse urine? Can anyone help as I feel like I'm on a hormone rollacoaster?

Estratest is NOT made from horse urine i was told, as I refuse to take such humane animal based products Am I misinformed or misunderstood you
I am on the SAME stupid roller coaster. I have to be on this medication or I can't stand myself. The pharmacist at my insurance company told me the only replacement for the Estratest, is "Estradiol"; I've not heard of this Covaryx ? Is it a prescription med or over the counter and did someone say you could still get the Estratest from Canada? Does that require a prescription?
Yes, I was able to get it from my doctor. I had a hysterectomy over 10 years ago but have been on estratest since then. I found out from someone on here that there are several pharmaceuticals that make covaryx, but the trick is getting the wholesalers, who sell to the pharmacies, to catch up. I don't think you will have a problem getting a prescription for covaryx from any ob gyn (if they don't stay current with these things, times to change doctors!) but the trick is finding a pharmacy who has a wholesaler that can stock it. My local CVS told me it was ordered. So did my local Costco, and I eventually got it filled at Costco but they charged me $142 for 90 days. I also was able to find it at Northwest Pharmacy, (Canada) thanks to someone else on this board, who found it there. Except they still stock Estratest. Go figure. I might just move to Canada....
covaryx IS estratest. did u seriously fill a prescription for it? where? i am frantic. thanks
Yes, I have been in the same situation but found out that Covaryx is the new replacement for Estratest. I am going to get it tomorrow. Will keep you all posted but am hoping it does the trick!
