I had complete hysterectomy in 1989. Took no HR after that until I hit 50 and then BAM! So I took Estratest and it worked fast and well for many years. In 2004 the doctor said I should get off it, so I did. Then I went nuts with horrible hot flashes, and decided to get cheaper meds, so they gave me estrogenmtest HS, which is MUCH cheaper.
I took only 3X/wk and lately started taking 7 days a week since the flashes came back. I have had headaches and dizziness for days now and even a bit of nausea. I have not gained weight, but I certainly have not lost any weight; I do not eat much, so ... you would expect me to lose something.
I never had any reactions to the estratest taken years ago, but now, after looking on the net, I am wondering what is going on with me. I am 61 years old and simply have not felt well for 2 weeks now- the length of time I have been taking the estrogenmtest. I do not feel this tired or dizzy or headachey, EVER!
What is the alternative, other than no pills at all?

I am just wondering has anyone ever had pain and burning down in you private area after taking Est Estrogenmtest Hstab AMN blue pill? I was on Est Estrogenmtest Hstab Glenmark green pill” and got changed to Est Estrogenmtest Hstab AMN since it was hard for the pharmacy to come up with the Est Estrogenmtest Hstab Glenmark. Well after I started taking it I am having a burning and stinging feeling. They told me it was the same medicine just different manufacture. I am wondering because I thought I was having a yeast infection and used over the counter medicine and it didn't go away and the DR gave me a one day pill and still hurts so trying something else for maybe a bacteria infection but it is still there.

In repley to Judy,Yes i have the burning in my private area.I also thought that it was an infection.The genaric of estratest is not the same.But what to do since they quit making estratest ?

I started taking this medication about 2 weeks ago. I have to take permarin with this drug. just wondering does anyone else have to do this?

I am taking EST Estrogen Mtest I have been taking it for years. Because I am on Medical/Medicare (result of after affects from heavy duty cancer) I believe I am getting the generic. But I began with the brand name and never had problems but all the syptoms that this blog is describing I have been problems with for the last couple of years. Do really think the generic could be causing these problems and I wonder why the difference. Need help looking for answers.
