I was given this instead of Esomeprazole Dr 40mg cap... My new med looks different than what I got last month... It's a white capsule with I and 82. Is it the same med?

I'm supposed to take esomepra mag (40mg), and I went to get it but it's 215 dollars & I can't afford that with no insurance. Why didn't they suggest a generic brand or something less expensive?

Hi, its Jim...I just noticed I got that damn esomepra mag...had an argument with the on duty pharmacist at walmart that the stuff was omeprazole, Ive looked all over the net and it keeps saying the esomepra is generic nexium. I looked on Aurobindo Pharm site and could not find where they list it as omeprazole. Can you give me the link to that area on their website? My insurance won't pay for my old generic nexium....because the pharmacy charges my insurance company $225 bucks for esomepra mag, but charges almost 300 for my old generic esomeprazole. I can't take omeprazole...get most of the listed side effects.

You are saying that Esomepra mag Dr is Prilosec??? It should be the generic for Nexium, not Omeprazole which is generic for Prilosec. If so, I was given a 90 day supply of something that I don't take??? So is it Nexium or Prilosec?

Yes, it is just another generic for it. It is manufactured by Aurobindo Pharma and they do list it as containing 40mgs of Omeprazole.

The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, flatulence, and stomach pain.
