No, colds and flu are caused by viruses and really, unless complications develop, such as infections, then you just need to let them run their course.

This medication is an antibiotic and it's only effective at treating bacterial infections. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea.
