Equivalent Dosage Of Enalapril For Losartan

I take one 100 mg tablet of losartan each day for blood pressure control. Recently, I signed up at the local Veterans Hospital where they recommended a 20 mg tablet of enalapril. Is this correct? Secondly, when changing bp medication, is there a period of adustment to the new bp medicine, for example, will bp measurements be high or low for a while until the body adjusts to the new chemical?

Yes, those dosages should be approximately equivalent, but double check with the doctor to make sure, it never hurts to do that.

And yes, there may be a couple days where things are a bit off, so your readings may be a little higher than usual. If they remain high after a week or so, then you'll need to contact your doctor as this medication may not work for you. You should also keep an eye on how high it goes and seek medical attention if it nears danger levels.
