Eptoin Side Effects - High Fever, Skin Rashes

I have a friend who met an acident and had to undergo Brain Surgery. After this he was stable and was discharged from Hospital. He was also prescribed Eptoin. After some days he has suddenly developed very high fever (104 deg F) and blisters in all body. Is it a side effect of Eptoin and is it life threatning.
A quick support will really help as currently he is ICU and under treatment. Thanks in advance
